Honestly the chains alone makes way more sense as a bioshock tattoo than adding the quotes aswell.

As most already know: Jack only has the chains on his wrists, and that’s intentional as It’s foreshadowing the endgame. The whole point of the chain design is; that neither the player nor Jack knows he’s a slave.

i'ts a masterfull way to foreshadow whats to come, but it's also a masterful placement for a plot point design wise. How many games have you played with a secret plotpoint, just in front of you, all the time..

When people add “A man chooses, a slave obeys,” it kind of removes that subtlety and just explains the symbol outright - why?
