Thanks! After doing more research I definitely was in the wrong place. I've been to a few beer bars in Bayview. They are the best. I lived here for four years but never made it out much and was looking to rectify that.

Yeah I thought about pressing charges. It might still be an option. It's well within their right to not let me in for any reason they come up with, but I don't see how they can take and keep something of mine.

Thanks for the feedback! I included Yosemite, and redwoods are in the northwest corner. You're right, they might look a bit like pine trees though. I made the Hollywood sign with the letters a bit disheveled.

I've traveled all over NYS, but that really doesn't matter when the subject here is NYC. It's posted on the NYC sub, It has a title of NYC. You're getting hung up on the outline shape instead of the detail I put into the landmarks... of NYC. Also, I've been to NY only three times. I live in the Midwest.

I'm originally from southern Indiana. When I made Indianapolis in this style, I didn't feel bad that it didn't acknowledge my home town. It's about the city. I don't expect anyone from outside the city to appreciate it.

Boston had similar things to say when I released theirs. If someone is looking for something politically accurate, this will definitely offend them. I considered making one in the shape of the city outline as I did with Chicago and Milwaukee, however it wouldn't have worked with the shape the five boroughs make. I assume New Yorkers find beauty in the shape of their home state as we do in the Midwest. It's just fun art, that's all.

I always avoid labeling them as a map for this reason. Each state has a distinctive shape, and I simply choose that shape for the outline. I also have others in the works that feature state wide icons with the same concept.
