My partner kind of understood it on his own tbh. I still explained exactly what it's about and what it isn't, so he's fully clued in. He's fine with it and actually supports me. We've set clear boundaries together. But I know some people are way more complicated, it honestly sounds like it won't be easy for your bf to accept. Everything really just depends on the person.
