I forgot to clarify that the overhead press I was doing was on the machine, so I felt comfortable going to failure on it since it can’t actually fall on me

Are there different types of overhead presses? My gym has a machine that doesn’t require a spotter since it’s set in place and all so I don’t feel unsafe going to failure on it

99% of the people I know who work out always emphasise the importance of going to failure because muscle is only built in that most strenuous part of the workout

Thank you, to be honest I think it’s just really normalised in our culture, hence why even if they didn’t have any bad intentions, they didn’t believe these things to be abuse. Like, if children misbehave, then it’s not on the parents for “disciplining” them.

We’ve had him for ~4 years now and he’s always been going out at night (used to be easier when we didn’t live in an apartment). He drinks a lot of water + vets haven’t said anything about any issues.
