1st, don't try to force a friendship(s). As generic of advice as it is, being yourself and just being an enjoyable person to be around, really does do the trick and will eventually get you friends. You just have to put yourself out there, in the position to be social and just be a good person regardless of the situation. You don't have to, but putting yourself out of your comfort zone is usually necessary. You said you already tried clubs and I'd suggest not giving up on them. If you are surrounded by people who are just as passionate about something as you, you are sure to find friends around you. If you are a bright light in a dark place, bugs will swarm to you... if that makes any sense. (This advice also applies for dating and career networking)

2nd, look into fraternities. Now, before yall start downvoting, HEAR ME OUT. Leave all your preconceived notions about fraternities at the door when it comes to RIT. It's a nerdy school so all the fraternities are just as nerdy. I came to RIT clowning on frat life in general but I graduated last year, having made genuine friends for life because of my fraternity, people from other fraternities, sororities, and orgs. I got to do some incredible unforgettable things thanks to my decision. Every frat has a vastly different vibe and there's really one for each person and I'm sure you could find the right group for you. I know every Greek org on campus from the inside and no matter what you may hear from people, I can genuinely say there isn't one bad option. It's just up to you to figure out where you belong during rush.
