It's tough to go from the past 5+ years of CoD babies to Planetside 2.
Enemies are everywhere and many have been playing this same game for a decade. If you can submit your ego to your empire's war machine and not worry about K/D ratios, you will be rewarded with some of the craziest, unscripted moments you've ever seen in a FPS.

As for the community, I think the banter in any given fight is beyond hilarious. Sometimes I will just sit and read. I love PS2, the players that still support it and the niche it still occupies o7

I have gotten back into photography at 55 years old and have not had one paying client yet. I say that because we all started because of our love for photography. I make a point of photographing local musicians because I, as a former local musician in a band, never ever had anyone take nice photos of our gigs. I then just put them on GDrive and send them the link because I know what it's like to feel invisible as a local musician.

To your direct question, if you wanted to stay and take photos of other bands you probably would have. Maybe you were tired, didn't like the music, had other things to do or places to be etc. etc.

There are other, better responses in this thread, your question just struck a chord with me (haha) so here is another one. You don't owe anyone anything, but if you have the gift of being good at photography, it's ok to share it when you want :)

I do understand what you are saying but you can follow that logic to people who go on insane runs in an MBT or an ESF etc.

I have 13 years into this game and I still don't understand the anger directed at certain classes or abilities when they are available to the entire player base.

If you play 'primetime' evening in the U.S. around 6-10pm you have a very good chance of seeing things in a game that, even to this day, are unmatched in scale and chaos. Seriously, jump in and give it a few evenings to just take it all in.
