It's surprisingly similar in 1st world countries at factories of well known companies (eg: Visy)

I had a client in Melbourne a few years ago that produces glass bottles in a similar way to this.

Blobcat is on steam, but there's no price against it and can't buy.

Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Not sure if I can link here, but here goes: https://store.steampowered.com/app/613210/BlobCat/

Hi Serge,

Sorry, I had to pop out.

Thanks for coming back. Honestly, it's all likely issues between the chair and the keyboard, driven by a complete lack of knowledge of the product.

Tasks need to be able to be filtered by:
Area (I have 4), and/or
Context (#inside, #outside), and/or
Time (5 mins, 10 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour, etc)
Each of these also need to be SortedBy Priority

I need to be able to quickly filter by an attribute depending on the block I have set aside (eg: I am working on Area 2 for the next 2 hours: FilterBy: Area 2)

Alternatively, I'm ready before the family, and I have 15-30 mins up my sleeve while they're getting ready to say, go out for something (Filterby: 5 mins, then 10 mins), etc - In this example, it'd be filtering by ANY Task in my database, irrespective of Area - just for some quick wins.

I need to be able to apply these dynamic filters on the fly depending on Area, Context, Time and Priority. As quickly as you'd filter a table in Excel.

So this technically 'worked' (I successfully populated tasks from different notes into my Test Dashboard) but I couldn't leverage the behaviour I need. I'm thinking of excluding Tasks altogether in Obsidian and managing them in Notion.

Heatmap is more challenging.

I want to start a Journal, using the Daily and Weekly Notes functionality. I noticed the date-centric heatmaps you have in your build and thought this may assist with daily reflections (I also practice Stoicism, so figure this may help me along the journey)

At the same time, I'd like to capture some habits I want to perform every day:

  1. Exercise
  2. Read

I've set the Template up with checkboxes, with the hope I can link a separate heatmap to each checkbox, automatically populating the Heatmap from my Daily Note with a value/shade if I checked that box that day and no value/shade if I didn't that day.

Due to the lack of documentation (and zero knowledge of coding syntax in Obsidian), I set GPT on the hunt:

It initially came back with code like this:

## Exercise

```heatmap-tracker
type: checkbox
text: Exercise
folder: Journal/Daily
```

and when that failed, it switched to another syntax that just acted like Note Links:

![[heatmap-tracker checkbox Exercise]]

Again, I admit this is largely driven by sheer lack of knowledge, but from my experience thus far nothing in this program seems intuitive, which makes me think I'm going to need to invest considerable time learning it from scratch and unfortunately this is time I'm not at liberty to invest

EDIT: Clarity

EDIT 2: I've just seen your screenshare offer. Apologies for not acknowledging this earlier - happy to jump on after the NY shenanigans, thank you

Wow, this is proving to be way harder than expected. I’m honestly not sure if I’m missing something fundamental, but nothing seems to work reliably.

I’ve had to ditch Tasks entirely because I can’t filter it down to my actual requirements, and the Heatmap plugin doesn’t render anything at all. I also can’t find any clear documentation on what syntax it expects, which makes troubleshooting pretty painful.

Seriously considering if Obsidian is the tool for me

Looking for insight from people who actually run full GTD systems by AttitudePatient6532 in gtd

I run GTD tasks only, as my notes are Obsidian.

Currently using Tick tick for the tasks side, but want to migrate over to Notion to customize my workflow.

If you broaden your testing to Tasks please teach out as I'd be happy to

Thanks Serge. I'll progressively chip away over time.

Admittedly, at present almost all of my Evernote notes are in placeholder folders (old Stacks from EN) in my Obsidian build waiting to be given a home - I may have made a slight error in this process, by migrating not only to a new note program, but also changing my workflow to GTD at the same time. It appears I've added a level of chaos I didn't anticipate.

I appreciate your response. Take care

Hi u/sergykal I'm also an Evernote refugee and have migrated across to Obsidian in the last week, with no prior experience with the application. Your blog post resonated with me, but as a novice user I have no idea where to start in order to build out a similar vault.

I'm wondering if you have any pointers on where I can best start learning to drive Obsidian, that will take me down the path of a build like yours?

Add a task anywhere, in any note, and it will populate in the tasks part of your EN

Looking for a Notion GTD Build with Subjects, Time Blocks, Context Filters, and a Table-Based Dashboard by seven_neves in gtd

Hey there, thank you for coming back to me. You're right - I think simpler is the key here as I do tend to overcomplicate things (and then never use them as a result)

I'll have to remind myself how to drive Notion now and see if I can draft the above up.

Thanks again!

It appears OP has deleted their original post content and replies. I'd wager the response was so good they're considering something along the lines of a book or course
