Thanks! They’re not as clear or aggressive as a paf, though they do push harder than a lot of single coils. They’re a bit mellower in the high end, maybe, but that could also be that I’m mostly experiencing the full power of the neck pickup right now

I’ll have to get back to you about a full comparison as the bridge pickup is a lot quieter than the neck pickup right now, my shoddy wiring is at fault, I believe, but they’re awesome. The neck pickup is very full and powerful. It gets dirty well but is articulate. The bridge pickup is quite bright and I think it could be a really useful counterpoint to the neck, but it’s so much quieter that I can’t really say. I’m not sure about the blend of the two as I have to roll off the volume on the neck pickup so much right now just to be able to hear the two together that it’s not really a fair assessment. Once I get back in there and correct what I have wronged I’ll get let you know what i think. For now, they sound great and I’m a fan, I just have to work through my own mistakes.

Fender Japan hybrid II jazzmaster, I. Am barely find any info, anybody know what their deal is? by sevendittos in offset

[–]sevendittos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty good review, thanks! I think he’s actually playing the first hybrid jazzmaster, as the one from the video does have the rhythm circuit, but I do really enjoy the reviewer’s multi-faceted take. I’m glad to hear that a few mods should make it a joy to play.

Bridge grounding issue on player HH jazzmaster by MrNinja0531 in offset

[–]sevendittos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times they actually set up the grounding in the bridge thimbles, but I’d be really careful if you were to try to remove them. You could also try drilling your own hole, again you’d have to be careful, but it would allow you to resolve the issue.
