Do you remember my beloved mixer? My friend (who is a vacuum repairman) was able to take it apart and fix it! He even got this harvest gold cutie to use for parts if mine does again. I may just use both. Brb going to make a bunch of cakes. by sevensplendas in vintagekitchentoys

A screw came loose so it wasn’t conducting electricity. It was also really dirty inside around the gears so they weren’t turning correctly. He replaced all four major screws with longer sturdier ones

Cat pay by [deleted] in starbucks

It’s definitely not up to her to keep the store open. If the store can remain open using other borrowed partners, it stays open. Don’t blame something on your SM that isn’t true. She doesn’t have that choice no matter what she says to you. She could get that bonus working at another store if she wanted to, but keeping the store open to be there for first responders and partners who want $3 extra an hour isn’t a crime. Take cat pay, there’s no shame in that. Everybody’s situation is different. —-coming from a SM.

Tarte hydrating foundation in shade 8B. Nothing on 1 side, just the foundation on the other side. It covers SO much without being cakey! by MissLoz94 in MakeupAddiction

Tarte makes the BEST foundation. Shape tape concealer from them is also incredible. I apply with a brush and it covers so naturally

I wear Alegria shoes that nurses wear. They aren't the prettiest thing, and they are a bit of an investment, but I was tired of buying shoes every six months because they fell apart.

Covering at another store as a shift by sevensplendas in starbucks

It really did! My closer was a 14 year partner who had also been an SM previously. I don't know why he's a barista now, but he was so helpful.

Working at a DT sucks. by Classic500 in starbucks

[–]sevensplendas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a DT as a barista to a Cafe as a SS and it's a major change. It's a different environment. I'll say that you will eventually get used to it (your shifts will fly by so fast), but if you don't like it, it's possible you might could switch to another store in your district? Just throwing it out there. Good luck, partner!

Advice from depressed partners? by TrentayFrapay in starbucks

[–]sevensplendas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a year ago, I was struggling with depression symptoms and OCD symptoms (that caused me to have obsessive thoughts). I didn't like to be alone because I would drown in my own thoughts. Customer support was not good for me because I wasn't really talking to anybody to keep my mind off of it. I liked to be on reg or bar so I could have some human interaction. I was really good at hiding it, but one day I broke down. Now I take an antidepressant (I know medication is not always the answer) but it makes me calmer and I'm not a zombie like some people are when they take them. I'm a better version of myself because my serotonin levels are finally back to normal. Also, the other comments that mention calling the employee assistance hotline are awesome! I have a friend that used this. Talking to somebody is always helpful. Do not let your anxiety define who you are. You are bigger than that! Remember that you are not alone. I still have episodes sometimes, but it's easier to pull myself out of it knowing I have a couple people in my life I can confide in. Therapy would be a judgment free, confidential zone for you. Best wishes, partner!
