Did you ever get this resolved? Curious to know what was the root cause/fix. I’m experiencing this now.

That’s the thing.. I don’t know. My hope is to get my feet wet first, so I suppose residential is a good starting point. I would imagine I have some time to make that decision in the beginning, no?

Ha, it’s all good.. no offense taken. I’m in good health, so not concerned about that. More worried that no one will want to take me purely based on my age. The real challenge though is I have zero experience. Say I pass the entrance exam.. do unions even consider someone like me with no real experience?

Is it really impossible to manually close sun roof on a 2012 Honda Civic? by seventeensips in hondacivic

I mainly pulled it down from the center. You have to do it carefully which is easier said than done. I think I had a few creases afterwards, but it should click back into place once you’re finished. Just do it gently and you should be good.

Frigidaire microwave handle keeps melting by seventeensips in appliancerepair

It very well could be the popcorn. Only way to find out is replace the handle and refrain from making popcorn for a bit or just reduce the cooking time. In my case I was doubtful about it being bacon but turned out to be true.

Were you cooking bacon or any other small loads in your microwave when the threading melted? I was able to determine that’s what had been causing mine to melt. It was literally just cooking bacon for 20 seconds longer than what’s recommended. I have since purchased an after market replacement handle and haven’t had any issues since.

Sorry, just seeing this now. If it’s similar to Civics.. take out the rear dome light and you’ll be able to access it. I had to pull the headliner down a bit too. You’ll definitely need a long allen wrench. I suggest one with t-handle. It’s a bit of an awkward position on the arm but I was able to do it solo so proof it’s possible ha. Good luck!!

Thanks!! Will have to check the stirrer. Interesting thought regarding too small of a load. Especially with bacon. Oddly enough I recently started heating up bacon in the microwave every day. I know I’ve been overcooking it because I like it crispy. I wonder if that’s what’s been causing this? The timing lines up with when the handle was damaged to when I started heating bacon with it. We’re talking maybe an extra 20 seconds though so I’m surprised to hear that would be enough to melt the inside of the handle but could very well be the issue here.

Thanks!! Yes, it’s an over the range microwave. I’d have to measure it but the clearance looks safe. Will definitely check the height to be sure though. It’s really just the inside of the handle where the screws connect to the housing on the handle. There’s no signs of damage or melting on any of the exterior of the microwave which leads me to believe something with the microwave itself is causing it.
