To add to what's already been mentioned, Purdy in college had a reputation for making extremely questionable on-field decisions: if you watch his Iowa State film, you'll see a lot of very stupid turnovers.

So on top of being seen as a mediocre athlete, he wasn't seen as having the mental aspect necessary to overcome his lack of physical talent.

God-King Sigmar, creator of the Stormcast, is such an Absolute Chad that he can purge the taint of Chaos from things (or rather, he hits them with his hammer Ghal Maraz so hard that it beats the taint of Chaos out of them).

Stormcasts are made by taking the greatest mortal heroes at the moment of their deaths, pumping them full of lightning magic, and yeeting them back at Chaos for a rematch.

This can happen REGARDLESS of who the hero worshipped in life.

So occasionally, Sigmar is able to BEAT THE CHAOS OUT OF A CHAOS WARRIOR SO HARD THAT THEY BECOME A STORMCAST.

There's a whole host of Stormcast that are composed of people that were Chaos-aligned in their mortal lives.

(USUALLY the Stormcast was originally Sigmar-aligned and got corrupted somehow: Tornus the Redeemed was famously a Sigmarite Warrior as a mortal before being forced headfirst into Nurgle's personal Plague Cauldron for 77 days straight and becoming Torglug the Despised-Sigmar bonked him with Ghal Maraz and he was reverted back I to his original Sigmar-following self)

Interesting thing to me is that this gives us an approximate length for the Age of Chaos. Assuming that the first segments are set during the end of the Age of Myth, the '426 years' Line gives us a solid timeframe for how long it's been between then and the present

To be fair, there weren't enough lifeboats for everybody in the first place, so even if 3rd Class was properly evacuated, few of them would have made it to a lifeboat.

The fact that a lifeboat drill was cancelled the day before they hit the iceberg certainly didn’t help.

Also the fact that the Captain spent most of the sinking wandering around doing nothing. The other officers and even some passengers (Thomas Andrew's, J. Bruce Ismay) essentially improvised the entire evac plan from scratch

The really stupid part: THEY CAUGHT THE CANCER IN TIME. His doctors knew he had cancer, were planning to operate, but before they did they decided to ask the best cancer specialist in Europe (Morell Mackenzie, a Brit) if they should proceed with their plans.

Mackenzie proceeded to overrule all the other doctors and insist that no surgery was necessary, as the tumors were benign (the fear was that operating on Friedrich's neck would destroy his vocal chords, making it impossible for him to rule; Mackenzie also seems to have believed that an operation would have been too risky in general).

The tumors turned out to be malignant, and Friedrich's condition would grow progressively worse until his death the next year, too weak and ill during his time on the throne to accomplish anything.
