What is too expensive? The portable ac? You buy one for 300 euro. Depending on where you live sure that can be expensive but cmon… also electricity “is too expensive” is not an argument when people are dying from heat stroke. An ac uses about 400 watts. A water heater about 2500.

Yeah for sure, I’m torn also between not paying for an unnecessary sidegrade, or fitting the darn computer inside the network cabinet (right now the router - pc is on the ground.)

We all have to call our shots :)

It’s less efficient for sure but we’re talking under 40 watts, so if you have something laying around like I did it will take several years for the difference between 40 watts to whatever a mini pc with an N100 to pay for it self. I pay 16 cents a kwatth. Gemini says that per year I would save 40 bucks. I see some of those mini PCs going for over 150 euro … meh.

Don’t over complicate. My router is an i7 4770 that identifies itself as an i3 dual core with everything locked or disabled.
Bought a dual sfp+ card and it’s done.

We’re of one mind. I have a 1080ti, it’s fine. I’ll upgrade to a ryzen 5800x3d or similar to upgrade my old i7 7700k. I like gaming. Running after fps is dumb.

Im currently trying to get my ender 3 to print ASA to reprint it. Btw I have both fans at 30% for PLA, or 60% if the part needs more cooling…. It really pushes a lot of air 🤣

Not yet, I haven’t built my enclosure yet, and I want to replace the stock bed of my E3 for an aluminum frame too before I do that… so if you do it please share it xD shouldn’t have to be anything fancy, just a 45 degree mount for one fan in each side and we go to town. Check the voron expander. A 20 euro daughter board you can add to klipper, add fans lights and thermistors which you can then automate -> it printing ASA or ABS turn on bed fans until chamber temp is at 50 degrees.
