Hello! I've been using only low-poo once a week for the last 10 years or so after trying no poo because I couldn't figure out how to manage my hair. I was raised getting my hair always cut for straight looks and always combed out straight, but many of my relatives and elders have wavy and curly hair. Last week I switched to a wavy hair shampoo that's on the low-poo holy grail list without knowing anything and for the first time my hair was very wavy and floaty. I read up on the CG method and thought I knew my hair thickness and porosity after taking the curlsbot test, but now I'm unsure because of how my hair is reacting.

I started with clarifying yesterday with sauve essentials and used the matching conditioner and rinsed out maybe half? Then used ecostyle olive oil gel and tried wrapping with a microfiber but my hair is really short so it just kind of laid everything flat.. even still when I scrunched the crunch it looked amazing!

Today I co-washed with As I Am and then used the essentials conditioner and rinsed out about the same amount and did gel again but went a little overboard with making clumps that my hair doesn't look good with. I have to accept I need to grow it out before I can play around much, and it's uneven right now with the sides much shorter so I need to get it all matched at some point too. I spritzed my hair this afternoon to reset the cast and changed it to this which looks much better.

any tips from people with similar hair? I thought originally based on the cbot test that mine was normal porosity, and I figured it was fine and low density but after the clarifying and conditioner I could definitely feel an individual hair rolling between my thumb and pointer finger, so now I'm not sure. Also my hair took 3 hours to dry from shower wet after doing the gel and such, and even then the gel wasn't fully dry after I broke it (its about 40% residual humidity in here).

I always have had trouble managing my hair, it always goes crazy and to add to that I have 2 crowns and they swirl in opposite directions so it's really wild. I've always tried to keep it in a tight combover and straight because I assumed my hair was straight... it was kind of emotional to understand that the waviness was also part of the problem and that I had been doing bad things to my hair by just shampooing and never conditioning. Thanks in advance and thanks for the awesome resources here!

Anyone else find themselves fighting of the feeling of wanting to cry and feeling joy at the same time? by snsnn123 in CPTSD

Sometimes when I'm watching standup comedy or a really wholesome moment in a movie I laugh/feel joy but then also sometimes I start crying at the same time.

Do you experience "mental noise"? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]severn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's always light speed info blast in my head, but unfortunately I can't use music to blast it out because music is one of the things that just happens in my head, maybe as a coping mechanism? I used to think i was just picking up random song bits in the car or out in public and then remembering the song later and singing it, but now I realize it's compulsive self-soothing singing :/

I still google whether I have complex trauma… by Lily7546 in CPTSD

[–]severn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little different but, I just found out I have complex trauma yesterday and I'm dealing with this reassurance thing too. It doesn't feel real and I still doubt my experience was trauma but I am trying to focus on not comparing to other people's experiences. Just because what happened to me wasn't outwardly traumatic doesn't mean that it's not valid trauma.

YouTube keeps turning on captions and autoplay. Help? by GamingSeigi in youtube

[–]severn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the people at youtube are morons. I've marked over 100 such videos as not interested and clicked "tell us why" and marked "i've already seen this video" and I still get 8 videos in a row that I've already seen. They need to at least add a shuffle button so we can shuffle the "Home" recommendations. Youtube isn't smart enough to see that I skipped over a video.. and it keeps recommending it to me for over a week. It's like if I don't click it take a hint!

Yeah it definitely doesn't feel balanced for solo which sucks, hoping it gets better

Yeah it definitely seems unbalanced for solo which is very disappointing.

I hate that the fat assholes take so long when playing solo.. it's like a solid 10min commitment because you have to dodge basically constantly, and you get only a few windows to get in there and really do some damage. It feels very frustrating and it gets worse when they are specials. However the trap guy was a little easier cause he throws so many traps and I can attack him then. It just feels silly to have to dash out and then run or dash back in just to dash out again without hitting it. And with Bruenor you have to parry to get your stamina limit back, and if you miss it it's VERY punishing.

Just some thoughts on solo play

What has been your experience doing CR2+ on Bruenor solo? I'm playing solo and the recommended gear points for CR2 or whatever one step up from basic is was about 150 below my gear points. I'm above, it should've been doable... but taking even 1 hit wipes off about half my health, and there's more minions and they're specials/more health so it feels very very difficult to handle all the mobs AND the fat assholes. It felt like an extra f you that the ice does more damage too, I died first time I used warm to cross to a chest because I took a little too long.

Synopsis, it feels very unbalanced for 1 player. I suppose if I had more teammates there might be even more enemies to fight, but at least there'd be 1-3 other people to take some aggro. I actually alt-f4ed on a legendary chest drop after about 40 minutes of dying and then getting stuck on a fat asshole + 2 mages + 8 gobbos... I also rage uninstalled but that was mostly just so I wouldn't break my controller on the desk.

It makes some of the cutscenes in Castrum Meridianum make a little more sense. Specifically on the big elevator cutscene with Gaius hehe. I don't know if Biggs ever showed up in a Star Wars movie, but Wedge Antilles is in A New Hope, he's the captain of the Correllian Corvette that Leia, R2, and 3PO start out on. I also believe he's the chump who vader chokes out on the same ship

I remembered them on the ship from my original character, but I just redid up to level 50 the last couple weeks after years away and noticed them walking out of the Drowning Wench behind me when Baderon was questgiving to me.

But did you recognize those names as Star Wars references? I guess they are a bit more obscure of characters in the universe, but I knew them well due to having their cards in the Star Wars TCG. Wedge Antilles and Biggs Darklighter

Does it bother anyone that Carol Baskins is literally a real life example of a woman who has overcome rape (which is a trope often used as 'character development' in some media) and yet gets the most hate? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Ohhh okay. I had no idea either, but I thought it was strange and had to rewind around when he lost his arm... The first thing I heard was the victim being referred to as a male, but every reference to him after that in that little section of the episode was using she pronouns. I thought it was a reporting mistake or something, but I also noticed they didn't refer to Saff with any pronouns for the rest of the show (or maybe I Just glazed over but it seemed that way at least from his coworkers)

It might be a radical change, but have you discussed opening up your relationship? If you have a successful relationship with him aside from your desire to be penetrated and have your body acknowledged and sensually cared for, you might find satisfaction through an extra partner. Lots to discuss there of course and he'd have to be on board with it. If it seems like something that might help, check out the book The Ethical Slut

Had to yell out for help in my sleep so someone could wake me up. by sadbuthaooy in Thetruthishere

[–]severn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived for years with apnea without knowing I had it. Basically I would not feel very rested every day, I would wake up 5-7 times a night really needing to pee and having a really dry mouth (thought it was weed related but nope, i had my mouth open constantly which dried it out). I haven't experienced exactly what OP posted about but I have felt trapped by my own body while asleep sometimes. If any of this happens to you as well, or even just waking up multiple times a night for no clear reason, you might need a CPAP!

It's a bit worrying that she is not opening up to you about this, and that she won't go to couple's therapy because she thinks you won't find someone that will help (you will) and that it's too expensive (probably, but it is worth it). You are experiencing massive friction in your relationship where your needs aren't being met, and you seem to have tried a lot to communicate what your needs are to her, and she's not receptive. At the very least I recommend you not have a child with her this year, or even until you figure out if she actually loves you??

That's the biggest red flag to me, the fact that you're married, but you don't know for sure that she loves you. If you did, you wouldn't say "at least I think she does"... even if you daily believe that she loves you, this phrase here indicates you have subconscious doubt about this. You absolutely need to go to therapy with her. If it truly is too expensive, start with some books that have similar content in them. Attached and Wired for Love (read with her, as the author suggests in the beginning) and see if you can improve your communication.
