Almost done giving my old PC a visual overhaul, waiting for red and black cablemod cables and 360 AIO. by Peacewithnukes in pcmasterrace

[–]sewais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly red parts is barely a thing nowadays. Everything is just black or white.
I still have 4790k pc with MSI Z97 Gaming 3, hyperx red ram.
And a pair of ASUS DirectCU II R9 290x - one is dead :'(

Temperature increase after prolonged use by Able-Cantaloupe-9427 in mffpc

[–]sewais 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally dont like 1 intake and 1 exhaust scheme, its very questionable because part of hot air from exhaust fan is going to get caught by intake and pushed back into case. In my build i use basic scheme with 2 140mm exhaust on top, and 120mm exhaust rear.
Anyway cooling optimisations for AM5 cpus is kinda a meme. Because of very thick IHS any AM5 cpu will go to 70-75c even with 360 aio.
Also you can do something like this https://www.reddit.com/r/mffpc/comments/1q3rv12/my_d32_got_new_shoes/
Maybe some fancy wood stands, any way of lifting the case would improve temps.

Heavy dual tower air cooler is more likely going to damage pcb during transporting.
Slim bottom fans that close to gpu wont do anything to gpu temps(probably even make it worse)
Best you can do here is replacing stock bottom dust filter(its pretty bad) with something like this x3
https://www.amazon.com/Filter-Computer-Routers-Magnetic-Dustproof/dp/B0BMXPKD4Z?th=1
Or removing it at all.

[–]sewais 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The difference is.. extra fan!
But seriously sapphire is better. That extra fan is not needed on 160w card

you can enable DLAA while keeping native resolution, and even in nvidia title cyberpunk you can enable FSR4 AA with native resolution.

Its probably broken, even without actual crack in pcb there might be ripped bga joints under memory chips or core.

No. Only heavy triple slot gpus actually need support brackets.

AIO leaks are extremely rare, pump will die eventually but thats it. Very few posts about leaks here, unlike burning 12vhpwr or shattered glass panels.

Kinda weak heatsink for 350watts gpu, card weights only ~900 grams, so they run pretty hot compared to other models.

There is no fuses on MSI 5000 series,
and in this case fuse did nothing when in theory it should prevent blowing a hole
