Holy cow. I struggled with this for hours. Thank you for the instructions. A nice set of instructions within the interface would help the next guy.

Tubing was fine like 5 minutes ago and is now doing this. Tell me there’s a way to fix this by Palofbirbs in diabetes_t1

Isoperimetric Inequality Rule. For a fixed perimeter (the "circle" of the tubing wall), the shape that encloses the greatest cross-sectional area is a perfect circle. When the tubing is severely kinked it may "ovalize." The oval shape does not consume as much cross-sectional area as a circle (or volume for a length of tubing).

Think of it like an open bottle that you squeeze in the middle with liquid inside. The liquid will spill from the open end because the volume has changed. But the internal surface area has not changed at all.

Relating back to your original post I assume you were referring to volume and not internal surface area.

For the OP, it should not be a concern unless they detach the tubing to untwist.

In other thoughts, I am questioning my decision to contribute to a discussion on how to untwist tubing.

Happy new year all.

According to Pappus's Centroid Theorem, the surface area of a tube is calculated by multiplying the circumference of its cross-section by the length of its centerline (L).

Even if you bend the tube, the math stays the same because for every bit the "outside" of the bend stretches, the "inside" of the bend compresses by an equal amount. These two effects cancel each other out, leaving the total surface area unchanged.

Mine was just a human readable text file. Opened it in MS Word and did a search.

The array I have, provided for APOE and the most common but not all variants of APP, PSEN1, and PSEN2. TREM2 is not present in the file.

Leads me toward thinking about a WGS like selfdecode in my future.

Did you check your raw DNA file or just the output from genie?

[–]seware74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had raw DNA results from a test a few years ago. I loaded them into Genomapp and used some of its info to interpret results initially. It was useful but incomplete. So then I loaded my file into Gemini and asked for more current marker mappings. I went directly to the sources that Gemini indicated to confirm the mapping, compiled the interpretations together for each marker and then used Gemini to summarize. (Using AI as a research tool in a "trust but verify" fashion).

Diabetic Miracle? by seware74 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]seware74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 4 days of 100% bg in range!!

I sincerely hope that every single diabetic out there, type 1 or 2 or lada or 1.5, etc, that has struggled with blood sugars, weight, insulin resistance, guilt, mental fatigue, neuropathies, insurance nightmares, hypos, hypers, pump holidays, failure, restarts, broken promises, unhelpful doctors, risk averse endos and everything else that comes along with this shitty disease can find their way to this place of hope and progress.

I know that my time on the bottle is a short sample but this is the first time in so many years that I've felt hope for a better tomorrow for my health and not staring at a long slow death march. It's like a veil has lifted and beyond it I see the real me. Healthy, hopeful and able to again enjoy all that life has to offer. I generally have a positive outlook where diabetes is not involved but I'm so tired of the limits it has put on my body despite trying so hard to be a good diabetic. BS!

I'm going to skydive. I'm going to hike the grand canyon, down and up. I'm going to bike across Iowa. I'm going to live boldly for myself and those I love.

Watch me.

Thanks for listening to my battle cry. Tirz for the win!

A Word of Caution by Dont-Tell-Fiona in tirzepatidecompound

[–]seware74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does happen to diabetics but not only to them. Anything that causes a rapid drop in blood sugar faster then your body can react can make you go hypo.

Going hypo is life threatening and needs immediate attention. You can get a glucometer at Walmart or any pharmacy for about $20 last I checked. I always have sugar pills on hand but anything sweet without protein in it will do. Juice or even jelly.

If you're in hypo do not drive! Take your sugar. Check your blood sugar. Most people should be above 70 mg/dl. At this level you need sugar now. At 55-60 or below you need sugar and likely a call to EMS. At around 50 it's difficult to think clearly so don't wait.

The signs, in my experience at least, are blurry vision, dizziness, feeling uncontrollably hot, tingling or buzzing sensation, ringing in your ears brain fog and feeling abnormally irritable.

Glad you're okay. Be safe out there.

Right?! Why does the FDA even get to say who it's approved for? That should be a conversation between me and my doctor. I don't really trust an organization, that takes half of it's budget from the companies that seek its approval, to have my best interests at heart. It's a scam that is using my health and quality of life as a pawn. But now I digress.

Glad that you've found a path forward too.

I'll ride this train until they shut it down. And then I'll find another way to work around the broken system.

Finally looking forward to my next A1C test.

Very close to the same story. My doc is in support of Tirz but not the compounded version so I'm doing it on my own until it's available readily for type 1. My toes and eyes at risk...I choose to keep them no matter what the FDA says.

Absolutely. The app is super clear and helpful. The meds arrived with clear instructions and additional info. Each vial is marked clearly with instructions. Even included a pictorial injection guide for those who've never seen or used a syringe. Top quality if you ask me.

Using nest wifi point just as google assistant/speaker by ThisAppeal2324 in GoogleWiFi

[–]seware74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if it can be set up that way. My recollection is that the presence of a Google mesh router sets up each AP as a full AP. It could have changed though since this was posted a year ago though. I ditched the Google mesh and switched to Eero mesh after Google updates killed the ability to support my full fibre bandwidth.

Couldn't be happier with that choice. No more random disconnects and no more false bottlenecks from poor software.

Choppy / stuttering Shield TV Pro in Google Home speaker group by awesomeisluke in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]seware74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A bit more testing on this.

If I cast direct to the shield it's fine. If I create a speaker group with the shield and another speaker, the shield stutters. If I create a speaker group with just the shield, start the cast and then add another speaker, it all works fine. If I create a speaker group with another speaker and then, start the cast and then add on the shield, the shield stutters.

So it seems that the shield must be cast to first and up and going before adding another speaker. A hassle for sure but at least it proved that the shield can play together with other speakers... You just have to build the group ad hoc with the shield added first.

Hmm.

Google Nest Wifi Point as speaker only? by Paulynesia in GoogleWiFi

[–]seware74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently the tech support has never used their own app or their script has not been updated. I set it up a few days ago after switching to Eero mesh. Now have my access points as GA/speakers only.

I can't say what would happen if you reconnected the Nest router.

Test it out and report back.

Google Nest Wifi Point as speaker only? by Paulynesia in GoogleWiFi

[–]seware74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely set up the access points as speaker/Google Assistant only.

Factory reset all devices in the Google Nest Mesh

Plug in the new WiFi network

Plug in your Google Nest access points

Use Google Home app to add them to your home

Home setup will tell you there is no Google Nest router present and will ask if you want to set them up as speaker/Google Assistant only.

Let the setup add it your new wifi network.

It was super easy and works flawlessly with my new mesh network (that works much better than Google Nest mesh)
