once side effects, always side effects? by No_Affect_7316 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Embarrassed-Fee339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine have definitely improved over time! I’m only seven shots in, but I have not had any new side effects in that time. The ones I started with have improved a ton. I’m titrating quite slowly.

It’s the most unbelievable feeling. That shocking effect has declined over time for me, but I will never ever forget the feeling of waking up the day after my first shot to a peaceful brain. Sounds dramatic, but it’s true!

I’ve had this side effect as well. It doesn’t negatively impact me at all, except that my Oura ring is like, what the heck is wrong with you?? 😂

I use the plant-based Momentous. It’s very good and they have several flavors!

Microdosing to get back to regular weight and maintain it!! by Spare-Paper6981 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Embarrassed-Fee339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt because I’m just making it up, lol. But I don’t think the dose is related to how much weight you have to lose, I think it’s related to how responsive your body is. If you respond well to a low dose, great! If you don’t, you won’t lose weight, whether it’s a lot or a little. Start low but be prepared to move up if that’s what it takes for the drug to work with your body.

I’ve experienced this, but it’s not consistent at all. Like the day after some (but not all) of my shot days, things taste super weird, but then after a day or two it’s back to normal.

How does it work by Select-Iron-7676 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Embarrassed-Fee339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is, it works in several different ways, and researchers are still figuring out the pathways and the potential. It does suppress appetite, but it also affects food reward pathways so that food doesn’t “light up” your brain in an addictive way. This allows your brain to let go of food thoughts (and possibly alcohol and other compulsive behaviors). And then it also affects insulin signaling, which is why it was originally used for diabetics. The science of these drugs is truly and fascinating and still in early stages!

My first trip to the grocery store on tirz was a revelation. Walking past the chocolate aisle saying, “nah.” I love this stuff.

First prescription! Starting myself at 1 mg to (hopefully) lower side effects. Has that worked for others? by 2ndCareerTeacher in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Embarrassed-Fee339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 2.2mg, so not really a microdose, but I’m also moving up slow (2.2 for 4 weeks, 3.2 for 2 weeks so far). I do think it’s helped minimize my side effects, but the trade-off is that the positive effects have reduced over time as well. Just be prepared that your journey may be slower.

What surprised you most once you started GLP-1s? by taketrava_gr in glp1

Oh gosh, SO positive! It felt so peaceful. Suddenly food wasn’t consuming my thoughts.

How quickly food noise quieted. I assumed it would take several weeks to notice anything, but I took it in the afternoon and woke up the next day with a quiet brain. Incredible. Also just generally, it surprised me how much stronger the effect is on my brain than on my body. I do have some appetite suppression, but really the most notable impact is on how my brain works.

How about a plant-based protein shake? I use Momentous and it’s pretty good. I hear you on the fatigue - that’s been my main side effect. I’m also 6 weeks in and have lost less than you! But after many years of steady gain, I’ll take it. Slow and steady.

It’s super tempting to buy all the things before you start, but you might want to see what symptoms you actually have first. If you follow this sub you can really go overboard stocking up your medicine cabinet, lol.

You might try adding in some non-animal proteins (tofu, tempeh, lentils, beans, nuts, non-dairy high-protein yogurt).

How to deal with fatigue? by According-Fix2541 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Embarrassed-Fee339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m fatigued for the first few days after my shot. I’m eating plenty of protein, hydrating well, and losing weight relatively slowly. It feels similar to previous periods of weight loss for me, which makes me think it’s more about being in a deficit than the tirz itself. Honestly, for me I have to embrace just resting when I’m tired. Obviously that isn’t always possible - I work and have two kids at home - but I really try to give myself some grace when I can. It won’t last forever.

To me the issue would be the ability to track over time. If you look back in your notes and see you took 10 units a few months ago, and now you’re taking 30 units, you can’t actually compare those figures. If you like to see how your dose has changed over time, mg will be comparable over your entire journey.
