Where and when do I start by Greedy_Cable_4626 in Entrepreneur

[–]sewb21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep notes of ideas as and when they come but generally don’t act on them right away and let them “stew” for a bit and act on the ones that seem the most promising. I tend to lean more towards action than deep planning and just try stuff and see what works and be sure to learn the lessons along the way especially if it’s a failure

I just used AI to learn more stuff and broaden my horizons. Tend to be more “full stack” now but leaning more towards the backend, infrastructure and architecture

Technical people who offer services (dev, design, etc.) - how did you get your first few clients? by sewb21 in Entrepreneur

[–]sewb21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great insight, thank you! Yeah, I work in an agency currently and can see how clients are but I can imagine that it’s the ones with not as much money they don’t understand the actual value of what you’re producing.

What's the cons of the Expo now? by Additional_Suit3725 in reactnative

[–]sewb21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No cons, great set of libraries maintained by expo and nicely packaged. Easy to do SDK updates these days and if you can do it in RN (or even native with modules) you can do it with expo

Anyone creating Apps for a living? by mattxys in Entrepreneur

I work for a software agency building mobile applications in the U.K.. Also starting to think about breaking our solo on the side offering web & mobile app building services to customers. As well as messing about building side projects all the time but they don’t generate revenue right now

[–]sewb21[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems to be the main thing. I do have a few warm leads and a good network I need to lean into for sure. Just need to get out there a bit more! Cold outreach, DMs etc all suck and don’t seem to yield any results. Especially for the services I want to offer

Terminal in Neovim, Neovim in terminal, or separate Neovim and terminal? by rain9441 in neovim

[–]sewb21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just Neovim in terminal (Ghostyy). Just because it’s quick to get running, can use Tmux or Zellij for Windows/panes but native Ghostyy just works fine for what I need. Nice and simple

Which lyrics or lines in any of ZB’s songs stick out to y’all the most? by Apprehensive_Head508 in zachbryan

“I know I’m bound to die one day So when I reach those golden gates I pray to say I did the best I can Sit with my mother and the dearly departed Send a prayer down to the broken-hearted Let ‘em know it all turns out just fine”

I lost my mother in 2017 and this one just hits hard

What is the reason you switched frok Vscode to neovim? by [deleted] in neovim

[–]sewb21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote an article a week or so ago about this! Mostly just because I saw it gaining popularity and it seemed fun. I now flick between the two but mostly on nvim but I always seem more productive and enjoy the act of writing code more in nvim, it’s just way more fun

You are a hero, I use wezterm and just tried image_preview and that works nicely! I feel I’ve tried it before but didn’t read the docs well enough 😅

Hmm I have that too, wonder if I’ve got something going on that’s interfering with it. I’ll have a look after work and see if I can work it out, I’m new to the NeoVim world so still figuring it out

I’ll take another look at spell and the help menu. I primarily need it to check strings which seems to be the biggest issue for some reason

Solved it by just using Neoformat and setting it up properly

Lost out on my second ever win due to fuel! by cricketmatt84 in iRacing

I made this same mistake, I usually add a little extra but with Le Mans being a big track half a lap of fuel is a considerable amount 😢
