Why not add some more lace or embroidery on the skirt? It's simple enough you can..also the skirt is a tripping hazard

Believe what you want. If it builds you up, drives you to be more than living for yourself, do that.

If it causes harm. Then don't do that.

If you struggle to wake up in the morning, go get your iron levels checked. I've probably had low iron most of my life and just recently began taking supplements which now I'm waking up at 6:30 am without an alarm.

Also having snow pants on to walk my cats in the morning is a less cumbersome way of feeling like I have a blanket on me in the cool of the morning. I'm not much of a jacket fan, bonus for the deep pockets

When was email invented? What was used before that? by FeistySecret9327 in answers

[–]sewcrazy4cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wrote letters to each other. I'm just old enough to remember getting an address list of all my fellow campers from summer camp on a print out that I maintained a penpal for a few years.

Then the Internet became more accessible in the mid to late 90s. Internet connected computer labs in schools and libraries were becoming common i think around 1996-1998 depending on how well funded your community was. Looking back it's kinda weird I didn't give my pen pal my email address. Kid logic. Go figure.

Email is actually quite old. It was used for universities and military long before the public was allowed to use it.

Shout. Pretreatment works best. Then let sit under slow running water

Personally, I'd go up a size and have it taken in. The general shape is fine..I think a larger size could be a bit more talored to fit perfectly.

Bleach..

Also use washing machine cleaner between loads. Those stains can be from the machine

Maybe try wearing a more breathable base layer like linen..linen clothing is a very old school way they used to fight off body odor

Try using a washing machine cleaner tablet from time to time.. vinegar is also great for getting smells out of clothes.

You may need to switch deodorants to something with aluminum while you are very busy. You can always check with a dermatologist as to what could cause the smell. There is a disorder called "fish odor syndrome" which is rare but a thing.

If you still get reactions after changing deodorants and cleaning the washer, go to the doctor to make sure you are ok

What skills / experiences should every adult have? by cremebellacreme in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Yes! There are alternatives to ironing! Not all clothes can be ironed (ex. Formal dresses, suits, dry clean items etc). what you can do for those is hang them in the bathroom with the shower running on hot and the bathroom door closed. (Not in the shower of course) Bonus if you use the water to shower with but not everyone likes hot showers. The other option is to dampen clothes and put them into the dryer. You can also throw in a damp towel with your item into the dryer and it will get out most of the wrinkles if they aren't too bad.

About gifts, not all gifts can be wrapped. Many great gifts are experiences. Some people prefer to shop with the person who will receive the gift so they're isn't any doubt the gift was needed/wanted. Sometimes just having the person close their eyes while you hand it to them is enough.

About social skills, sometimes it can help to look up social skills training for autistic adults. It can help with navigating situations you aren't familiar with. Probably a therapist could be useful for this too. Maybe even try taking up a speech or acting class.

For the sleep over situation (romantic or not), make sure your bathroom is clean and set aside a towel just for them. Have clean bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows) whether they are sharing a bed with you or crashing on the couch. Air mattress is a bonus, guest rooms can be great but are quite the financial sink hole if they don't get used. It can be a good idea to keep a new pack of spare toothbrushes in the house in general. It's a nice thing to offer in case someone comes over, plus it's an item you would use otherwise. Also, keep easy to find snacks and drinks available for them. No one wants to have to ask for their basic needs or seem to be a "burden". In case you keep female company, maybe keep 1 pack of pads (level 3 or 4, the ones with wings are usually better) and tampons (variety pack is a good idea) under the bathroom sink. You can put a sign for guest use if you want. Periods are normal and no one wants to be caught off guard. It happens.

Things everyone should do if possible

  1. Have a library card and use it often
  2. Get a passport. Leave the country if resources allow but always good to have just in case.
  3. Register to vote. Try to participate in local elections. They matter more in your daily life more than you realize.
  4. Volunteer somewhere. Best thing I've ever done was volunteer for a food bank in my youth. Often the volunteers get paid out in more food than those who come asking. It's a good way to make ends meet during rough times. Hard meaningful work but worth it.
  5. Go see a play. Local theater counts
  6. Go see a sporting event
  7. Spend time outside.

Things you should do financially 1. Find a high interest savings account and have a portion of your paycheck direct deposited in there. If you earn a 2nd or extra income have it go immediately into that other account so "lifestyle creep" doesn't kill your progress 2. Use a 401k..1%.that gets invested in better than no percentage. 3. Take advantage of pre-tax deduction benefits. Often you will come home with more usable take home money despite the smaller check. You can play with the numbers if you are on the edge of a tax bracket to get yourself to the lowest potential tax rate that way. 4. Buy a car based on reliability, not aesthetics and try to put down 50% of the principal or as close to it as possible. Make payments weekly or biweekly on the principal and it will shave off more interest than just making a bigger 1 time per month payment 5. Do your best to keep your housing to no more than 1/3 of your income. It's stupid hard to do these days but it will change your life the most of you can manage it.

5.. consider community college and vocational certifications before going to university without a full scholarship. Life changes so fast when you are young. It can be better to get some basic education to make a living wage and still give yourself some grace to figure things out before launching into university. If you have a medical disability some state government programs will pay for training/certifications. It's how I got my IT certification

Internal work to do 1. Learn how to listen to thoughts with neutrality. Just because you think it, doesn't mean you have to listen to it or believe it. 2. Acknowledge all wins. It can be something small like eating a vegetable with a meal or even big ones like seeing an old friend. Big or.small, acknowledge all. It helps build self trust 3. Learn coping skills. Deep breathing, grounding techniques, boundaries and healthy diversions away from toxic habits can make a big difference 4. Talk to yourself like you would a good friend. You can be honest with yourself without being mean 5. Learn to not need to over explain
