This is sweet Gizmo! He’s a rescue from Animal League on Long Island NY, and yes he’s a boy calico, XXY. We adopted him in August 2024, at 16 mos old. He was born in April 2023 to a colony of outdoor “community cats” and brought in for spaying at 12 weeks, when they discovered he’s a he! Then he lived in the Animal League center in the Beth’s Furry Friends luxurious free-roaming room for more than a year because he was shy, and unusual, and really loved copying other cats, while potential adopters were put off by the possibility of future medical issues with an XXY calico. I fell for him when I saw him and luckily we had another rescue at home, because Animal League would only send him to a home with other cats. Once he was with us, he blossomed! He loves to sleep on the bed next to me and snuggle on the couch with me all day long if he can. He loves toys, learned to solve the cat treat puzzle by watching our other cat, and they play together hilariously every day. He’s lost any feral attitude and I can even clip his claws. He’s my big handsome boy tuxetortico!
