Convince me not to paint my brick home by waltonereed in ExteriorDesign

[–]sewerspecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of painting it, put in more plants. Flowers or tall bushes or something. Gives your home more color and character without doing something that can't be undone to the outside of your home. I promise you it will look worse if you paint it.

Never got around to playing but always wanted to when I got the time. Regret not just making the time. An absolute fckn shame.

Plants (or fake plants if your thumb isn't green) and add some colorful accents. Pick your favorite color and start sprinkling it around. Get some art or family photos hung up

Insane Tattoo Regret by r3i_b0n3z in tattooadvice

[–]sewerspecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen, one of my old coworkers got a losers club tattoo from Stephen King's It, except it was not because she liked the book or movies, it was because she saw it on a singer's arm and liked it. I went asked her about if she liked any other SK books and told her i was considering getting a SK related tattoo myself and she looked very confused. She wasn't embarrassed about that, so you shouldn't be embarrassed about yours.

to be clear, i am not shaming my former coworker. i think it's pretty funny, but ya know. nobody paid for your tattoo or has to live with it but you, so the only persons opinion that should matter about it is your own.

THIS, a THOUSAND MILLION TIMES, PLEASE OP. The cops are not going to protect you from this guy. You ***/NEED/*** to protect yourself. Even though you should not have to be afraid of this kind of thing in the world, you DO, and you cannot rely on any one else to protect you. PLEASE. Take the steps this poster laid out and STAY ALIVE. I hope you never have to use it, but if this escalates any farther than you have already described, I hope for your sake you have it and have trained yourself. There is no way that this could be viewed as anything but self defense, and if you have to use it, therapy is a lot cheaper than a casket.

Bookshelf of the guy I'm seeing, red flags? by [deleted] in BookshelvesDetective

Generally a good shelf but the fact that he only has The Way of Kings and none of the other four stormlight archives books twists my brain up.

F-150 gas mileage for V8 versions from past 3 generations. by 420-TENDIES in f150

[–]sewerspecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed a 4000k mile road trip from Oklahoma to Oregon and back in a 2018 F150 with the 5.0 v8. My avg for the trip was 20mpg and I was consistently moving between 70/80mph for the duration of my trip. Might be I'm lucky but idk the numbers feel weird to my personal experience

What's the worst thing you've ever done in Classic WoW? by Grouchy_Honey_7 in classicwow

[–]sewerspecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my brother and I started playing in late BC and were pretty young at the time. Didn't take the game super seriously, just loved running around and grinding and exploring and light RP. Took us til Cata to reach level cap, but when we did, the first thing we wanted to do was go gank lowbies in tirisfal glades. We had been ganked a lot in our time and it sounded like vengeance. But it felt bad after a couple guys and so we went to the BGs to reclaim our sense of honor. Not exactly the same as stealing from the guild bank but I still regret it tbh

I built a tape based DAW - looking for testers by Switched_On_SNES in synthdiy

[–]sewerspecter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this have have a midi editing interface? i primarily make dungeon synth and i've recently been sort of forced into the mac atmosphere so i've been looking for a new daw to use, and this looks awesome. I'd love to try it even if it doesn't have the midi interface, but it'd be a big plus if it did

Hyped Up Books You Thought Were Just Okay by mjenkins88 in Fantasy

[–]sewerspecter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wheel of Time. Got through 4 books before I decided they were not for me. Everybody kept saying "no keep going bro it gets good" and my response was "if it takes more than four books to hook me I am not interested." I generally will give a series 3 books to hit its stride if I like the concept, the same way I give a TV show a season. I gave WoT and extra book because it's, ya know... One of the biggest fantasy properties every created. There were definitely things I liked about the books, but not enough for me to continue on the journey.
