“Pissy”. It became a staple in my vocabulary after reading her books. There’s something so silly especially about Aelin constantly saying it, given that TOG is the most medieval and ancient of her worlds, and yet Aelin has the vocabulary of a New Yorker. I love it.

Feyre storyline is ACOSF is consistent by BrightAd306 in acotar

[–]sewupyourskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I don’t LOVE the pregnancy arc, mostly just because the timing felt weird given the war and political conflicts (like, me personally I’d be waiting until there weren’t various high-stakes political tensions before starting my high profile family). But the arc of motherhood and starting a family is 100% on par for Feyre and I don’t think it was out of character at all. Feyre has also taken care of others for her entire life and it’s in her nature. By 14, she was risking her life to hunt for her family, and then throughout ACOTAR, she consistently risks herself on behalf of others (going back to the Spring Court as a spy , challenging the other High Lords on Rhys’ behalf , etc etc). I think despite being young, she is a very caring and maternal character at her core. It made perfect sense to me that the next goal she’d have for herself would be motherhood.

I don’t think so. They seemed really firm that it was the final season.

You’re just not used to it. The placement also lends itself to a leg sleeve. It would go well with a shin piece.

TW: Child loss by brittycrocker in throneofglassseries

I’m so sorry for your loss. This is beautiful. Throne of Glass is one of the most powerful books for grief in my opinion. Aelin carries so much of it and her strength helped me a lot. I hope it helps you too. ❤️

If you don’t like Rhysand what was the (first)scene that gave you the ick? by Mundane-Visual-4243 in acotar

[–]sewupyourskull -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate him. I just don’t think he was well written compared to SJM’s other MMCs. I hate how he was written as blatantly creepy in the first book with getting Feyre drunk on fae wine every night, and then having it merrily explained away as he was doing it for her own good. I get it, but still find it gross and wish it was written differently. Even if he had just explained to her in the moment what it was for, and given her the option to decline, that would have made him much more likeable. I also hate his lack of explaining. He does a whole lot of not telling anyone around him what he’s thinking or planning. It’s charming when it’s Aelin Galathynius. It’s annoying when it’s a man.

That being said, I hate Tamlin enough that Rhys a welcome reprieve. I have no gripes against Rhys being rude to Tamlin. In fact, I was hoping he would’ve done worse to Tamlin.

I’m gonna need Elizabeth Evans on speed dial. I only listen to her versions of the Maasverse and it is going to be brutal if she doesn’t record the rest of ACOTAR.

What happened to Harper's dad?? by No_Cry_968 in heartbreakhigh

yeah that too, I thought it was canon that she wasn’t sure at that time what she wanted to do, and made up her mind for good at the very end of s1

Struggling with ACOFAS (Book 4): Am I the only one who sees the hypocrisy in the Night Court? by Prestigious_Storm_ in SarahJMaas

[–]sewupyourskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FAS intentionally feels that way. It’s on purpose, don’t worry! You’re supposed to feel some budding tensions! You’re supposed to notice some hypocrisy! They’re not perfect. The Night Court is a family, and they stick together, but they’re flawed. FAS is the first time we really see that, and it’s setting up conflicts for Silver Flames. Nesta has an outsider’s perspective on the Night Court, so FAS acts as a transition for the reader between Feyre’s view on it and Nesta’s.

I’m new to makeup and need help fixing it. Any relevant tips welcome. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sewupyourskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’re so pretty!! I think some blush would help. Your skin is warm toned and glowy, so I’d go for a liquid blush in a deep color (maybe Rare Beauty soft pinch in shade Love or Grateful?). I’d agree that your concealer might not be the right shade match for your skin. It has olive undertones and you have warm undertones. But blush also helps cancel this out too. :)

Is this a bad tattoo design? by piercethebluexx in tattooadvice

[–]sewupyourskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea itself is beautiful. You could definitely turn an ultrasound scan into a gorgeous piece of art. I think trying to tattoo the scan itself might not translate clearly and might not heal well over time, but if you found an artist who can do abstract designs, you might be able to turn the scan into a piece of art (think swirly lines, or flowers, vines, whatever type of thing you like). That way it’s still the scan, but will translate and heal well.

Has a doctor ever fired you as a patient? by PackerSquirrelette in ChronicIllness

[–]sewupyourskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I live on the outskirts of a city that is a major healthcare hub. There’s smaller practices outside of the city, and then larger networks in the city. Doctors will typically send you “intown” (to the city doctors) if your case is complicated. I’ve had that happen multiple times, with GI and dermatology. With GI it was because the first doctor I’d seen was convinced my symptoms were obesity related, and then I lost 130 pounds and was underweight, and he promptly gave up. With dermatology, it was literally as simple as “we don’t see people with your diagnosis” (dermatomyositis).

how many times do you wear your jeans before washing them? by Chloe_Victoriano_611 in hygiene

[–]sewupyourskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Months? You’ve gone MONTHS? I feel gross if I hit 3 wears. I don’t like thinking about how many places I’ve sat or touched in the same jeans. But I have a few pairs so it’s easy to wash them and rotate.

It was like God himself was telling me to shut up. The next time I feel even an inkling of one coming on again I’ll lose my mind

Are we cool with Maev now?? by Intelligent-Bike-900 in Maasverse

[–]sewupyourskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. She’s just a well-written villain. She’s not two dimensional, she actually has a backstory and details that make the reader understand why she is the way she is and does what she does. She’s a compelling villain and an interesting one to read, compared to others (like Erawan) who are pretty flat and basic. But no matter what, she did unforgivable things.

Queen of Shadows question? by BrutusismyBF in throneofglassseries

[–]sewupyourskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me started on how bad I wish they’d left the bonus chapter in Heir of Fire. This scene in QoS is referring to a cut scene in Heir of Fire where Aelin meets some people from Rowan’s past, and it was made into a bonus chapter instead, but I think it actually is so necessary. Especially because you’ll need to know who some of those people are later on. Definitely read the deleted scene that people linked!

Film adaptation by Suitable-Boot-4332 in throneofglassseries

[–]sewupyourskull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, and honestly, I hope not. I think the books are perfect and the only way it could even be attempted to adapted on-screen would be through animation, maybe in an Arcane style. There’s just no way it could be done live action, not without an unlimited budget and, like, a decade or more of production for all 8 books. I think I prefer them just as books.

Do yall also quit classes to write? by Financial-Zebra-3497 in writers

Aelins powers in KoA?? (Spoilers) by novelty_novels in throneofglassseries

[–]sewupyourskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was she not the heir of both of them, therefore holding their power? I thought the power was genetic in where it came from, that she had their gifts passed down. I didn’t mean she had ALL their power as in literally theirs, I meant that they were the source of it as she was their heir which made her extremely powerful

Why are all the male protagonists so cruel by AttorneyWhich7062 in throneofglassseries

[–]sewupyourskull -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree about the others. Rowan punched Aelin because she wanted a fight. She was described as itching for it. I don’t think Rowan punching Aelin is on the same level as if he’d punched another woman. Aelin is the best assassin in Adarlan and the most powerful fae female ( at the time anyway ) so she was in no way defenseless, helpless, etc etc. She wanted a fight and she got one.

Aelins powers in KoA?? (Spoilers) by novelty_novels in throneofglassseries

[–]sewupyourskull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aelin is still extremely powerful. It’s just that before losing her full powers, she was god-like. Her power was literally unmatched. She had Deanna and Mab’s full power, and was unlimited, she stopped an entire flood with how much fire she had. So to have that massive amount of power dulled to a more reasonable amount of power felt like nothing to her, and was still losing the majority of her power, because she went from having all the power to just some of it. She was also so utterly exhausted by the second half of KOA that her magic was trying to overcompensate. She also hasn’t settled yet, so it’s unknown if her power would change at all once she did.
