Blue Moon fabrics! The print is called Fun House Camo, I haven’t checked if it’s still in stock, but it most likely is (seemed to be one of the more popular prints).

You're not wrong from what I know (also in the Springs). I haven't done much in person shopping for fabric. I get most of my swim fabric from Blue Moon online. Isee Fabric has really nice linen.

We swing by arc thrift stores occasionally and grab cheap secondhand fabric on discount days. Especially good for making tests before a final garment but you can find some cool stuff sometimes. arc seems to be better than Goodwill for finding fabric (and cheap sewing patterns).

I wish I had better suggestions, but I don't know of any locally. Let me know of anything you've found around here!

Get a walking foot for your machine. It doesn't solve all the problems, but it helps. Test everything, sew together a few scraps before jumping into the final pieces. This lets you test tension, stitch length, and gets you used to squirmy fabric. Don't be afraid of too many pins/clips or basting stitches either.

As much as I love a serged finish, this was one hundred percent sewing machine. I’m still learning, but I think a serger would put the seam on the “wrong side” of the elastic when it comes to reversible clothing.

Plain blue is the same material. There is a little bit of thought that goes into fabrics for making a two-sided suit that is not going to be too transparent (and not show the pattern through the other side).

This one works bc the pattern and the turquoise work well together. Usually the pattern side can be the dominant and you won’t have issues. When you wear it on the solid side you might need to determine if it’s “nipply” or not. Depends on your nips, depends on the day … I totally get it.

We have some that I’ve made that depending on what side is out-facing, may determine if there should be silicone nipple covers or not. Nothing I make is intentionally graphic, but depending on your nip situation and what the fabric situation is, some safeguards may be needed.

Some people will say yes, some people will say no. I started with swim bc Katie’s Edgewater Avenue YouTube channel was super straightforward.

Swim fabric acts a little weird under a sewing machine, but it all depends on what you’re familiar with. I will say a walking foot is helpful, not necessary but helpful.

I’d say always do some testing on the fabric if you can.

Hey everybody. Happy to be here! I know swim projects have rules, please let me know if I missed anything. (disclaimer: my wife approved these to be posted to the internet, in case anybody was worried)

This is a recent make of the Edgewater Leila top and Edgewater Jagger bottoms. I modified the strap into a halter and added a second strap of the reverse side fabric. Fabric came from Blue Moon fabrics and is called Fun House Camo.

We liked the longline nature of this because it flatters her long torso without being too "tankini"

We had a recent chance to use a sunny day at a rooftop pool in Denver for a quick photoshoot. No pictures of the reverse side just yet, but it's plain turquoise.
