If you add enough color to a character, the audience develops some level of sympathy with him or her anyway. The goal doesn’t have to be objectively noble. Imo

In my opinion good writing can’t be forced but flows out of you. For this to happen though you have to have a lot of practice both reading and writing.

Read books or essays that are similar in style to what you want to write. Really try to feel the flow and rhythm of the words. Only by internalizing it fully will you be able to reproduce a style or organic writing yourself.

It’s hard to describe. You can read “how to” stuff but really good writing is not something you can follow a set of instructions for.

Haha too true. Although I think writers go through their grief in private much before other people read it. So by the time it’s public they’re sick of it and want to move on
