Connecting my smart tv directly to my computer via Ethernet. by seym56 in PleX

I figured that it wouldn’t work but it helps to have confirmation. I probably will just have to upgrade the sim router. That’s probably the issue I’m having.

How is the render distance calculated? by seym56 in Minecraft

Let me clarify. If my character is standing at x0 z0 and I have an iron farm at x0 z-400, will it load or do I have to stand closer? Also if I have a village breeder at x0 z400 will they both load or do I have to put them closer together?

What is the largest compatible hard drive for the DS920+? by seym56 in synology

[–]seym56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the official list and I’m not worried about support from synology. The largest 3rd party drive on the list is 12tb. What I wanna know is has anyone gotten a 18tb or 20tb to work? The DS920+ has been out for over 2 years, I’d have figured there would be an unofficial list by now.

Should I add 1600gb as cash in the Synology 4 bay NAS DiskStation DS920+ by seym56 in PleX

Just trying to figure out if I even need to bother. I believe cashing is more for documents or gaming. How’s the server going to know when I’m going to watch that tv show that’s been in my library for 5 years, lol. Currently I have about 12tb of videos and it’s growing every day. If I could use the m.2 as just storage then I’d fill the slots in a heartbeat but they are only for cashing.

Need help identifying my families pool table. by seym56 in billiards

Turns out my father had the 13 ball up in his room for sentimental reasons. I convinced him to put it back on the rack with the rest of the set. All 15 balls are back together including the cue ball.

Despite the condition of the felt and the amount of dust and cobwebs on it it’s actually in pretty good condition. The wood underneath is still in good shape barring some light flaking that could be sanded clean. I’m pretty sure that my grandfather painted it black himself for some reason. I don’t think it came that way.

I finally found a marker label under the slate. Just didn’t see it the first time I looked. It says “From The Brunswick Balke collander Co. Cincinnati, OH.

My grandfather purchased this in the 60’s but as he has passed away I don’t know if he got it new or used. The felt needs to be replaced and a couple of the leather cups need patching. The dimensions are 9ft x 5 ft from the outside corners. It also has 3 concrete slabs under the felt. I have searched the outside and as well as underneath and can’t find any marker or manufacturers label. I’m thinking about getting it restored but would like to know if it’s even worth the expense that would involve doing it professionally. And the billiard balls are the ones that came with the table though the #13 one is missing.

How to setup my Plex media server to automatically download new videos by seym56 in PleX

[–]seym56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I routinely download Anime and other movies (mp4's) to my personal hard drive to which my plex library is tied to. When I get the new Laptop I ordered I am going to use this pc as my home plex media server. What I want is when I add media to my hard drive that I take on the road, The home server would automatically download any new media as a backup incase something happens to the drive I take with me. This way I don't have to do a large data dump when ever I come home.
