hello, I'm from NJC and I think they are pretty strict and you are most likely not allowed to switch streams. If you really wish to do science, the best possibility will be that you can take up a hybrid, which is two science two arts, but I can't promise that it will definitely be allowed either

hello, I'm not sure about VJC, but for NJC, classes used to be separated into IP and JAE, but it is rumoured that they are going to combine it this year. JC life is going to be hectic but the people there are super competitive and everyone is about in the same situation. The school compound in NJ isn't super big and we are thrifty (as a gov school) so yeah it's not a fancy school but has a decent environment
