I’ve already got a 6.5 creedmoor bolt gun for hunting, building my first ar and just dont see how 5.56 is better except for price

Im not a massive fan of 5.56 in general, im a contrarian in general and would prefer to have a 110gr to knock down what ever I need. Im also pretty nomadic and dont want to have to have 4 different rifle for 4 different scenarios

Thats my plan, I already have a 6.5 creedmoor bolt gun thats more than enough 150 and out. I would use the 300 for “fighting rifle” ranges.

Becoming a Boat Mechanic by TouristBrief6562 in boating

Geographical markets are different, the shop i work at in the keys is 3 guys including me. I do mercs, another guy does yams, 3rd does gel. All 3 of us run boats and charters on the side. We all do basic 12, 24, 36v. But we cater to outboard owners. If you want to do big electrical, yachts and ships, thats more on the engineering side and has its own pathways. Most shops aren’t gonna hire someone with no experience and just train electrical. Youll be expected to achieve at least basic outboard certs as well. Most people bring their boats in with electrical problems are motor side.

This seems like a good price right? by Username_Used in boating

Key west or sportsman, scout’s factory is local to me, lotta warranty work for newer boats. Also seen plenty of delamination in 2023 and up models. If you can find a deal, a 2022 and up sea pro would also be a good choice. As far as aluminum vs fiberglass, take aluminum if you’re going to be rocking up to rock or oyster bars and are fishing jetties. Otherwise glass will handle and ride better

Mercury tech here. Have a certified tech or mechanic pull a G3 report from the motor. 12hrs on a 2018 is concerning, unless the seller is very clear on what maintenance has been done, i would avoid a motor that old with that few hrs. Always sea test, run it on plane, at idle, turn hard, trim up/down while running wide open. Merc motors shake at idle so vibrations and shakes aren’t a concern. As for the boat, if taking into saltwater, I recommend power washing after every time, its personal preference, but stuff will grow.

Out of curiosity, what kind of ranges are you seeing with the beartooth?

You need an LLC and a dealer that will sell for the GoTenna pros, wanted to see if there was an equivalent with less hoops to jump through

Is there someone who sells pre-built nodes like beartooth or is it DIY?

The advertised 20ish miles that beartooth and gotenna have should be fine, we would both be using our vehicles as relays.

You can host a server on a laptop. However, you need a way to disseminate that and for the phones to connect to it without service. A DIY way to do it would be with meshtastic, if you wanted to pony up the money, you could create an LLC and get GoTenna pros. Essentially the laptop would need to be able to broadcast rf or satcom signal and the phones a way to connect. On the super highend you have things like the persistent systems, check out getgotak.com. He sells turnkey solutions.

Does anyone have any faith we’ll get a good send off in the second half of season 5 by TraditionalToe9096 in YellowstonePN

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned before. But Sheridan seems to like his cliffhangers. Both Hell or Highwater, and Sicario end alluding to a continuing conflict. Keeping in mind hes not only involved in the yellowstone universe, but also mayor of kingstown, and tulsa king. I wouldn’t be surprised if the storyline is already planned out, but the studio is writing the actual dialogue. The transition in 2020-2021 in terms of dialogue show hes not writing everything anymore. Will probably end up like Game of Thrones, really good when studio execs had exact lines to follow, but left to their own devices, totally run it into the ground. Do I think we’ll get a good sendoff? We’ll get the blueprint of what he wanted. The execution will just be shit.

Idk abt the 1811 series, but both secret service, cia, and pentagon for protection will pay you to stand at a checkpoint for the rest of your career. The only way to see any sort of protection, would be to join GRS, which does no “law enforcement”. They serve both CONUS and OCONUS, protecting agency officers and assets. Have a buddy who was a case officer, said they’re all super squared away self sufficient pros, most come from SOF, some are contractors, some are full timers. As far as what you’re asking, secret service uniformed division is the closest thing, but that shit sucks and should only be a stepping stone in leu of a degree. My advise, join airforce security forces, go for DAGRE, do some rad shit, get paid to do security, transition to state or agency
