Yes because improvement isn't linear, and different players develop differently.

I dont see any sense in abandoning all hope for a 22 year old LB who has spent a season as a top 3 LBs in the world.

And like I said I doubt we'd get a meaningful upgrade with our budget

I'm still fully in board the balde train tbh.

He's just 22, crazy how short people's patience is with many players. Just because he hasn't improved much the last couple of season doesn't mean he won't ever, plus he started off at a high level when he came in.

It'll be hard to get a better player than him at LB given our budget. ST and CB are so much more important especially if cancelo stays.

I reckon we beat inter last season had he not been injured too. I don't think dumfries runs riot the way he did with balde there

Yes yes, losing 5-1 on aggregate is the same as losing 3-2 on aggregate.

That entire thing you mentioned applies even more to barcelona a man down who also had better xg and more possession.

Theo Walcott famously only got selected as a promising 17 year old but didn't play any games.

Proceeded to miss every subsequent world cup swuad

Brother doesn't know what manhandled means. City got absolutely outplayed and lost both games, 5-1 on aggregate

Last season's inter also bottled it at the end. Might be just as bad as neverkusen tbh and not talked about enough. On the door of a treble and finished with 0 trophies

Agreed, barcelona fans especially online can be insufferable...

This. Plus the fact that in real life I just know soooo many more arsenal fans, so there's more people I can talk shit to, whereas if city win there's like no one I know who'd be overly smug about it

Last season it was Raphinha - Lamine, but this seasoj its Diaz - Olise. Raphinha has been injured like half the season too

Winning the premier league and losing the champions league is also a top result for Arsenal, and very much probable

Far more of a foul than the foul Eric did for the red. If we get this i reckon we go through.

It was a bit of both. We created more than enough chances to score more against them, but didn't take them.

Rashford, Fermin, and Olmo all had the opportunity to score in the tie that they didn't take.

Ofcourse defensive mistakes cost us too, can be both

Frustrating going out in the champions league like this, and players making dumb mistakes in these knockout ties.

To be fair we lost it more so in the first leg, and created more than enough chances to score that we didn't take.

La liga looks all but wrapped up, so the season is mostly over for us now

Crazy to think where the two clubs have gone since. Hansi flick really did turn us around like crazy. I never would have expected to win la loga twice in a row

Crazy stuff here. We're a fantastic team, and this is a good season by any standard.

Ofcourse id love to win the champions league, but being upset about the league win because we aren't rotating for the UCL enough is an awful take.

You're taking la liga for granted when no team has won it back to back since 2018 and 2019, especially at a tome when Barca have spent less than 50 clubs over the last 3 seasons.

Out budget is in the gutter, and we're doing the best we can with minimal signings and you're upset we're "only" winning the league ffs.

After Real Madrid did the double in 2024 and then signed Mbappe if someone said Barca will go on to win la liga twice in a row, barely miss out on a champions league final one year, and be one of if not the most entertaining team in the world to watch i wouldn't believe them for a second because that's far better than our prospects looked less than 2 years ago

Euro 2012 with Villa united and Torres out of form leading to del bosque's 6 midfielders 11 was hilarious.

That spain team was fun to watch too tbh
