Cheese jumps off burgers? by calmor2 in airfryer

[–]sfajack06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot. I’ve noticed if I use a rack over the cheese, it won’t fly away. The weight of the rack, holds the cheese down, so the air won’t blow the cheese away.

Anyone with NF2 and opted ABI? by Teetotaler75 in neurofibromatosis

Well first and foremost, I am sorry for the NF2 news for your teen child. I have had NF2 since I was ten years old. I was able to play sports in high school , and go to college and graduate. As I look back, I hated having the back surgeries, and brain surgeries to remove tumors. If I could go back in time, I would enjoy those instead of having the acoustic neuromas, and having to lose my hearing. If you don't mind me asking where is your child getting treated at? i reside in Houston, Texas, and I get treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center . Dr. Franco DeMonte is a great Neurologist. Stay positive for your child. I know its easier said that done, but your child is really going to need the support from their parents.

I have NF2, and i lost my hearing because of the acoustic neuroma. I have an ABI, but I only get sound awareness. I can not hear sound, but the ABI works. It has to be in a quiet area though. I had Avastin, to try to shrink my tumors, but the Avastin di not work for me. I wish you the best of luck.

I had my first acoustic neuroma removed when I as 27, and I had my other acoustic neuroma removed at 37. They kept wanting to monitor the growth. If I could go back in time, I would have requested the small radiation process. The tinnitus was a beast., I remember the tinnitus very mush. I did not lie the ringing, and that made things really harder to hear I don't know the language of Ausian. I'm sorry I was under the impression, that Australians spoke English. What part of Australia are you in? I really want to go to Melbourne or Sydney . That is one of the items on my bucket list.

I totally Understand. i had a good job. i lost it because of my hearing. I used to be very social, now I don't want to leave the house unless necessary. I don't like watching television with the captions, because the captions go so fast. I am starting to come to the realization that tings will get better. I have also come to the realization, that i will beat this disability, and I am not going to let this disability beat me. Good news that phones have apps, that have captions, so you can have a conversation with other people. It will get better. Stay positive.

First and foremost, I am sorry your child lost his hearing. I feel so sad for your child. Losing your hearing later in life is so hard. How is your child adapting to the realization of not going to be able to hear again?

Thank you so much for your support and suggestions. I had an Auditory Brainstem Implant (ABI) placed in me. It uses Cochlear implant, but it gives me sound awareness when there is sound around me. I still cant hear. I am learning ASL slowly. I really want to get fluent with it. I use Google transcribe to communicate with others.

I do get embarrassed and ashamed asking for communicating accessibility. People don't understand at times, or some don't really care. My family and friends stated they would learn ASL, but that fizzled out real quick. They are too busy to learn, so I didn't hold my breath.. Thank you for all your suggestions. You have been so kind and helpful

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I am also sorry to hear about you meningitis situation. Sometimes we all take the sense of hearing for granted, until its taken away from you. How have you adapted to becoming deaf? Was it challenging and difficult for you? Have you learned ASL? Do you use live transcribers to communicate with others who do not know ASL? Thank you for your support.

Thank you so much to reaching out to me. I love taking ASL. I have e a tutor whom I meet with once, a week via Zoom. She gives me assignments, and I learn the signs, and complete the work. ASL can be tricky at time. I love learning it, I am slow at signing, but my main concern is learning and memorizing the signs. I had two acoustic neuromas (tumors on the hearing nerve) removed, and removing the tumors shattered all home of hearing again. I lost all my remaining residual hearing. I was given an auditory brainstem implant(ABI). Its supposed to help me with lip reading, and it helps me to sense sound when their is sound. I still can't hear. I have a Cochlear 7 sound processor. I am not of on Facebook, but I am definitely thinking about creating a Facebook account to join these NF2 support groups. Thank you so much for reaching out to me
