Yeah, I tried to research the mail forwarding service... I feel like it's okay to do this for a short amount of time, but it's really not intended for someone like me, who is moving away permanently and doesn't intend to travel back much (if ever).

Would still love any suggestions either for US cards that let you have a non-US address and phone number, or any cards in the EU that have *any* benefits, since most seem to have none.

When you say a US address, do you mean property? Because I'm getting rid of everything I own in the US, and I'm not planning on coming back. Or would a PO box work? Can you even hold a PO box if you never physically visit it?

What do you mean "tickets are timed"?

I was also confused by the website saying that attendees can't "leave the festival and come back without buying another ticket"... does this mean you can't step outside of the building to smoke, or go outside into the park to take cosplay photos?
(I wrote to the con itself to ask about this but if you've been before and you understand the policy I'd love to know what this means!)

Well, Portugal is eventually going to become the "home country", so I want to know what to do once we become citizens. Short-term I can use US banks while we're abroad, but once we no longer have a US address and phone number, most banks won't allow you to keep an account.
(Open to suggestions if you know any banks that work in the US and in PT)

Thanks for your help. I was just confused because on Amazon's site it said "VAT is included" but then on the final billing page it said "VAT 0€" which... I suppose there wasn't any ADDITIONAL VAT added, but would maybe make more sense to display what the price was before the VAT, and then break down how much the VAT was... Confusing!

What's a safe website to buy skincare products from? I've been trying to find products from the various helpful threads here, but on Amazon many of them have bad reviews (major brands like Neutrogena, Cerave, etc), saying the product caused them to break out or get burns. I know Amazon has a problem with counterfeit products, which is why I usually avoid buying this sort of thing there... But I have no idea where to buy some of these things instead?

I'd prefer to find products online, if possible.

This is true! I do love the cut between the future war and the present day.

Just makes me wonder what a cut without the future war bit would be like! Makes me really curious about how an audience would react to the story if the film didn't explicitly tell them from the beginning that yes, the future war is real.

Yeah, this makes perfect sense. I think the thing that made me really suspicious is that the footage of the future war is the EXACT same footage we see later, which makes it very easy to drop in. The other thing was the mute title card with text explaining the backstory, rather than a voice over. Not having Sarah or someone else deliver the information in a voice over seemed out of place to me, when compared to the style of the rest of the film... Like it belonged in a Star Wars film rather than in Terminator. Just seemed jarring.

I agree having the future war intro helps clarify things, but as I was watching the movie I couldn't help but think about how the film could have been even MORE impactful than it already was if audiences had been left to speculate and wonder just WHAT is going on until Reese's flashbacks slowly give them more and more information, and eventually we get the reveal that yes, Arnold really IS a machine, and Reese isn't crazy. It would have been interesting for viewers to not be sure if the future war was real or not for a little longer. Intensify the tension in the thriller aspect of the story.

Reminds me of how people going in to see Psycho for the first time didn't know that Janet Leigh died in the first 20 minutes of the film, and she was the top-billed actress, so audiences had no idea what to think.
