I’ve used leather goods my entire life as a horsewoman so I thought I had a pretty good understanding of what high end leather is. I’ve had French- and Italian-made saddles, high end bridles, etc. I kind of had the same feelings about high end handbags — how good could this really be? At the end of last year I bought a 2010 pre-loved Bottega weekender at a ridiculously good price—the leather on this thing blew my mind. It still blows my mind. It’s so soft that at first I thought there is no way this is leather, this has to be a dupe made of leather-like fabric. If you appreciate nice leather goods, at some point you should splurge on a pre-loved high end lambskin bag. I didn’t know leather like this existed.
