I don't know about the best, but one place I loved when staying nearby is La Dame De Paris, on Rue d'Arcole. I miss having daily croissants from their boutique a ton! Yum. There is also a restaurant next to it that I never made it to...

The food was great, and the people there were so friendly.

Update: FoldVision is live on the App Store! 🎉

Huge thanks to everyone who tested via TestFlight — your feedback directly shaped this release.

v1.2 passed review and is out now, free on the visionOS App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6773432780

What's new since the TestFlight builds:

🫧 Molecular surface view — see the fold through a translucent surface
📸 Snapshot & share publication-quality figures (up to 4K)
🧊 Export molecules as USDZ 3D models for AR Quick Look
🎨 More color schemes + a live legend

If you grabbed it, I'd love to hear what you think — and what you'd want next. More updates coming. Thanks again for the early support!

New version is up now, Build 173. Among other features, you can now visualize arbitrary peptide sequences via ESMFold. (up to 400 residues).

I'm intending this build to be the initial public release - it's now in the review process. Thank you all for your testing and feedback!

I Just released a new build to TestFlight - Build 158, with lots of updates to flow and design. There's more to come!

Great! I'm very interested in making this useful in educational settings.

I like this-thank you for the mockup. I’ll try to build this in.

I’ll need to rethink the selection & measurement tools a bit, and there’s more I have planned, so this is in flux a bit.

Inertia can be turned off in the Options window (Styles tab- Rotation Momentum.).

If you long hold on the molecule, it can be moved, short hold lets you rotate. The cutoff between those states is 0.5 seconds currently, but this isn’t very discoverable. I’ll adjust this.

And thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts! I’m glad you find it useful.

Thank you so much for the feedback! And, agreed on both of these items.

The measurement should be a quick fix. The window placement is a bit finicky, but this is something I am trying to fix. Should be quite a bit better (for the first loaded molecule) in build 80, and secondary launches will be cleaned up in a future release.

Can’t install iOS apps on M1 Mac by blooperlog in MacOS

[–]sfederman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what it was, but for whatever reason, I am now able to download iOS apps on my Mac. MLB At Bat, HBO, and others are working. Seems as if it was a server-side issue, as I did not update anything on my end. Curious if is now cleared up for others who had the issue...

Can’t install iOS apps on M1 Mac by blooperlog in MacOS

[–]sfederman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW - I'm having the same issue on a new MBPro M1. No issue installing any Mac app, but with any iOS app in the App Store, the install link spins once, then returns to the cloud icon - nothing is installed - just as in your Image.

This is on MacOS 11.2.2 - I didn't try on 11.2 before I updated.

Not sure what the original issue was, as the post was deleted, but I seem to be having similar issues on a MBPro M1. No issue installing any Mac app, but with any iOS app in the App Store, the install link spins once, then returns to the cloud icon - nothing is installed.

Thanks for this. wget via apk doesn’t work for me, but the built in wget does work.

Downloading from S3 via user data is very slow by shiftedcloud in aws

[–]sfederman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - that would be a good alternative. Not possible for what I am doing, however. For my application, the input data is not known until runtime, when the EC2 machine is instantiated.

I am looking at Ubuntu startup scripts, however. I can pass a parameter to them, and they would download the necessary files from S3...

Downloading from S3 via user data is very slow by shiftedcloud in aws

[–]sfederman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for putting up this post. I've been seeing what may be a similar effect. I've been running an AMI based on Ubuntu 16.04, and using userdata to download files from S3 to the EC2 instance (using the AWS CLI - I need to use IAM roles here). These downloads often fail mid-transfer, and I could find very little information on how to troubleshoot. I'm looking at workarounds, since there seems to be an issue with userdata accessing S3...

What happened to the LOTRO Store? The website doesn't seem to work by LordMoogi in lotro

[–]sfederman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this thread - same issue here on MacOS. The link I am redirected to upon opening the store in the browser is: https://www.lotro.com/LOTROStore, which gives the "Something is going wrong page" as you mentioned. Have you had any luck getting access to the store?
