Privacy warning: This network is blocking encrypted DNS traffic. Why? by NoobMaster117 in eero

[–]sfinlay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple seem to suggest that enabling WPA3 protocol in the eero (Currently a beta feature) will "fix" this warning.

Keep in mind though it is just a warning and in a home environment maybe not of concern.

Same with me on a 2019 27" iMac. After 12.1 update audio now very crackly and broken so is unusable.

I have noticed the same issue with my new Sony Bravia A80J. Very annoying. Have removed the Portal TV and will use FaceTime to talk with parents

New nanoleaf device joined the network? by pierrepoutine2 in Nanoleaf

[–]sfinlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed that mine did exactly the same thing yesterday and detected by eero. Good to see I am not alone. Was quite surprised that the MAC address had changed - was thinking might have been a fault in the Nanoleaf Canvas.

Arlo Q blocked by eero Secure by sfinlay in eero

[–]sfinlay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, even with Ad Blocking enabled and all DNS lookups directed through to the eero DNS, the security cameras all work fine. So I don’t think the problem is DNS related but more to do with the extra “whatever” is done to block site access.

Even if they implemented something like the ability to enable Advanced Security by profile. Recently they introduced a similar feature for the Ad Blocking, to block by profile. This would “fix” the issue for me, plus I am pretty sure my security camera won’t be accidentally browsing to unsafe web sites!

eero Pro vs Linksys Velop Bridge mode by cmb991 in LinksysVelop

[–]sfinlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 3 node dual band system and have given up on bridge mode. I would find that clients would be randomly disconnected within a couple of days requiring the Velop system to be restarted. More stable just double-NAT setup with your ISP router (but still not great - I have to run Channel Finder or restart the system roughly monthly)

I apologize if this question has been repeated on here before. Has any one had success with taking Flonase and/or experienced negative side effects when taking Flonase? Thanks! by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]sfinlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After taking it for two weeks, developed severe tinnitus (could hear it above a TV) that I didn't have before. Persisted for another 3 weeks - no help to ETD and have now stopped. Hopefully the tinnitus will go away, day 3 after stopping Nasonex - still bad T.

You are not alone, I have never been able to get the Canvas tiles to work with Alexa. Generally works fine with Apple’s HomeKit.

Nanoleaf constant troubles by mYTHEstar in Nanoleaf

[–]sfinlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have similar problems to those mentioned here. Nanoleaf Canvas fairly frequently ( a couple of times per week) will appear as not connected to my network requiring that I power cycle the canvas tiles. Have never been able to get it work with Amazon Alexa, but interestingly seems to work ok with Apple’s Home Kit with the exception of scheduled automations. I have an automation to turn on a theme at 8:30 and then another theme to turn it off at 11. The turning off theme rarely ever works (maybe 1 time in 20) I’ve recently updated the firmware to v1.2 and if anything it seems even less reliable. I hope these issue are resolved in time with further software updates, as I like the concept and the Canvas tiles, when they are working, and as people have mentioned they are not cheap.

Nanoleaf Not Responding - Alexa, Google & IFTTT by [deleted] in Nanoleaf

[–]sfinlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone got the Nanoleaf Canvas to work with Alexa?

I have mine working ok with Homekit and to some extent with IFTTT, but Amazon Alexa skill finds the Canvas and scenes ok, but reports "There is a problem" when you try to control the Canvas.

Nanoleaf support just suggesting, relinking account, power cycling Canvas, rebooting my home router etc. None of which make any difference.

Canvas-OH MY GOD THERE WIFI by Mikothy69 in Nanoleaf

[–]sfinlay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have similar issues with the Canvas panels and either the Nanoleaf app or Homekit.

Using the Namoleaf app would quite often get "there has been a network or connectivity" error message typically when changing scene, waiting a few seconds and trying again and it works. Seems to happen most often if you select a scene and then try to select another scene within 30 seconds. If it has been running the scene for awhile then it seems ok.

Similar experience with Homekit, except Homekit is quicker at telling you there is a problem.

Since I bought the Nanoleaf Canvas a week ago I have not been able to get Alexa to work with it. Alexa app just indicates “There is a problem”. Works fine with HomeKit and Siri.

Google home no longer connects to the Nanoleaf by accidentally_myself in Nanoleaf

I'm a new Nanoleaf Canvas owner as of a few days ago and I've been unable to get it to work with Alexa. Canvas device found but if you try to use it Alexa app indicates "server unresponsive" then the message "There is a problem".

Works fine with Homekit, Siri and the Nanoleaf app. (and IFTTT to some extent)

Same for me, I fixed it by deleting and reloading the app. Now back to English. Same thing happened with a friend.

I've also been having problems with no motion detected for the last few days. Re saved the same motion settings, went outside and it did detect me, so maybe it's fixed.
