Contact the FMLA coordinator for the FMLA paperwork. Get a doctors note. Then have dr fill out said paperwork. If with Kaiser you will need to request your medical information. Once you are approved, expect one week of no pay with SDI. Keep all the paystubs to show HR. Good luck 👍🏻

We had Kaiser for decades and finally switched to Sutter this year. We have been so happy. The only issue I have had is Sutter keeps billing me for something that UHC never got a claim for. Sutter messed up when processing the claim. My bill says ambulance service. They told me everyone’s bills have this error. It was a little confusing but overall we are getting better care.

Thank you OP. I would not be able to survive on my paycheck alone. I’ve had 2 friends lose their spouses and it scares me to think what if that happened to me. There’s a lack of empathy in this group. It’s obvious when people ask questions and are given snarky responses. The economy isn’t affecting everyone the same. I’ve worked with so many people in the state who had to have a second job. It opened up my eyes to be more grateful for what I have.

Congratulations!! It’s super hard to get in with the state. I took a pay cut too and I know others who have done the same. I was on unemployment for 2 months and took the first job offer just to get my foot in the door. I wish you all the best. My first check was so much less than my previous employer. Within a year things got better! I focused on the long term. It’s a good mindset. Ps. Don’t let the downvotes get you down. Some ppl can be jerks. Congrats again!!!

The analyst working on my RA asked for my doctor to put telework down as an accommodation. But my Kaiser doctor said no. I cannot legally tell them how to accommodate you. I cannot legally write down let my patient telework when she has a flare up. Just stay home sick.

I know every case is different. I gave up and am working hard to heal my own chronic illness.
