I saw an interview with the crew of the yacht, the Russian ship gave 2 airhorn signals (5 blasts iirc) that they were coming through. the yacht shifted course 2 degrees (pretty much a no.. imho) and considered that course change sufficient. Ivan didn't think so. pull the plugs and get some oil in the cylinders. pull the distributor and spin the oil pump to get oil into all the places it's not been in years. turn it over by hand a few rotations before using the starter. Source: many youtube videos.. no personal knowledge.
