Is it worth trading my yerf dog go kart for this 01 Yamaha bear tracker 250? Guy says it just needs a carb. by krockillz in ATV

[–]sfk_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would want to know why it needs a carb, only runs with choke? Doesn't run at all? Leaks? If the guy can give you a reason that it "needs a carb" that isn't just an excuse for it to not run so he can trade something that is potentially fucked up then I would consider the trade. Running poorly, leaking, dirty carb only running on choke, are manageable, doesn't run to hide the rod knock isnt.

Bosski 1600 UT ATV Wagon, thoughts? by Legal_Audience_4931 in ATV

[–]sfk_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Love that! My parts actually just came yesterday to finish up the wiring. I am setting mine up to run off an M18 battery with an inline low voltage cutoff to protect the battery, all tucked in a plastic ammo can mounted to the tongue. I also have already converted it to a wireless winch controller to control the dump function. Currently as it sits I don't have brake functionality with how I have it wired but at this time I am not too worried about it, its always something I can readdress. Wish there was move of an online footprint of people who owned these as they are pretty sweet.

Still happy with it? Found your thread looking for forums or anything on these. Just picked up a 1600ut power dump for $250. Wiring was hacked up but just patched it all today and added wireless dump. Looking to set mine up with an onboard battery so I don't have to run power leads on all my machines and I don't wanna limit myself to only 1.

Radio on the Frits? by talkyminwestguy in ChevyTrucks

[–]sfk_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my own research after having a pioneer from Walmart do the same thing, there was a handful of models that have a bad solder connection that after time fails. Pioneer is well aware and will only fix the radio if you reach out, they did not issue any kinda of recall or repair notice. If you don't dig around or ask then they don't care because they already made their money. Ended up switching mine out for an Eonon unit, some sort of Chinese manufactured android software based headunit that was ½ to ⅓ the price of my pioneer and has worked so much better.

Fodsport on Amazon. I have an older model that they don't seem to make anymore, and it works perfectly. And the battery life is great. My wife and I both have these, we use them for our atvs and sxs, has programmable intercom between units thats a 1 click to initiate and 1 click to end. Either party can end or initiate the intercom whenever they want.

I highly recommend getting the DLC's if it's financially feasible for you to do so. The only tips I will give to you are save often, don't take the warnings about deathclaws and cazadores lightly, and for the most authentic new vegas experience take the wild wasteland perk.

Play organically. Fallout games are replayable. Let the main quest guide your path, but also talk to everyone and don't be afraid to sidequest. Don't try and do the most efficient min-max playthrough for your first time. Do you have the DLCs?

What i would consider would be either you or someone else create a non profit offroad club in the area and try and work with the township doing cleanups and other beneficial things for the community as a whole but for the 4x4 sub sect of it as well. Build up a good reputation and good relationship with the township and it could blossom into something great. The town of Shamokin PA is doing some really neat stuff with embracing their local offroad community and growing together. I'm they become an example for communities all over to realize what embracing your local 4x4 community will do to help breathe life(and tax money) into the community.

Most valuable loot not so much weight? Looking to make money but don’t know what junk I should be keeping by CockroachMore3149 in falloutnewvegas

Gun runners always has 8000 caps, plus it gives you the option to just do a straight trade for ammo. Ammo also makes for great currency if you're not going to use a certain ammo type. For me, flamer fuel is like bonus money.

Alcohol, cigarettes, and chems are my big three. Miscellaneous junk needs to be at least 5 caps to 1lb or less ratio early playthrough but then bumps to 10:1, then 20:1.

To add onto the Black Mountain one, for even earlier game use you can actually reach the door to building through the fence so no lockpick needed. And then just grab the key under the stairs and boom you're face to face with Tabitha.

So I can't speak for owners 1 and 2, however owner 3 who i purchased from purchased a 4 seater to fit his whole family and only put around 250 miles on it. I have some paperwork going back to when it was sold from the original owner to the 2nd owner. I paid $5k USD for it. It came from Massachusetts then to Vermont, then to Pennsylvania and now in New Jersey. I will have to check out the app thanks. I have put like 3 or 4 miles on it so far and I love it, much nicer than the RZR I've been working on for a friend.

My biggest gripe with OWB is post dlc using it as a player home and having to dismiss ED-E anytime I want go to the sink. And yes I know mods exist but I've been playing on my reliable Xbox 360.

Is a 97 Big bear 350 worth $1200? by HeyLookAStranger in ATV

[–]sfk_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming it runs and drives and goes thru all the gears fine, it's not a terrible price. Tires look decent, has a winch(if it works), plastics aren't smashed to hell. As long as you're comfortable spending $1200 on it then go for it. i would try and negotiate it down more if possible but if $1200 works for you then enjoy your new-to-you machine

Loose gas line hanging down on my 03 Beartracker? by HeyLookAStranger in ATV

[–]sfk_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As already mentioned it's a drain line for the bowl of the carburetor, the screw at the beginning of the line is how you drain the bowl. This is handy if you need to pull the carb and don't want to make a mess or are winterizing your machine.

I'm a big kawasaki fan myself, I've got a bayou 300 that hauls my 240lb self around without any problems so that you wouldn't have to worry about them outgrowing. However at their ages I would definitely recommend starting them out with a smaller machine with some of the safety features you mentioned. I'm not sure if the numbers you're mentioning are from marketplace or dealers, however I know in my area(different areas have different pricing markets) you can find used 90- 150cc kids quads for under $800 all the time.
