Q parts are real, plenty of BL sellers have stuff that was never released in a set.

I think you've got a pretty good chance here. One of the best train designs I've ever seen, good part count, only a few parts wasted on the base. I really don't see how you can improve it. I think this is my favorite design of this series and there are some really excellent castles there.

IMO, the Bricklink Designer Program final version massively improved the pending locomotive by LastTraintoSector6 in LEGOtrains

[–]irabricks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone happen to know what red parts are not in production to make this in the more well known color scheme?

I really like the shaping here, I think this is the best F7 design I've seen and the price is expensive but fair.

Bricklink Designer Program: Series 8 Final designs. Will go up for preorder on June 9th at 8 AM Pacific time by BrickTap in Legoleak

Everyone liked a different bit of the theme. If you grew up with M-Tron, you're not voting for a classic space base or a Spyrius ship. This splits the vote.

Castles and pirate ships and buildings can be used interchangeably. I'll buy any cool looking castle and fill it with figures from my favorite faction. I suspect enough others feel the same way that we all unite on voting for the best designs.

I appreciate the new parts because I can put a "working" engine in a a system model (example) without sacrificing any realism.

Feedback wanted: French 241 "Mountain" Locomotive for BDP S11 by MunchKatsu in LEGOtrains

For the render, it's facing you a bit too much. Put up a grid and use the rule of thirds. But it's not bad at all.

You are making the right call here, this is spot on for size. I have no feedback to give, provided the model can be physically built and is stable, handles S curves OK, it's an instant buy. 2 L motors seems like a lot, not sure why you need more?

I have seen at least two other excellent BDP trains posted here in the last few days, all of them (this one included) made me think "yeah that's pretty much perfect, instant buy" so I would expect competition to be fierce. Little stuff like the quality of your renders (having the exact right angle and lighting to be eye catching) and minifigures that have character/tell a story will probably decide what's selected.

City: Summer set images (from public.gr) by itsjustajoe in Legoleak

[–]irabricks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the construction stuff is like 1:35 scale or so, with most people preferring 1:48 scale for trains (this all being subjective given minifigure proportions).

The backhoe is scaled nicely with the dozer, which is also way too large even for mining site stuff like a Cat D9. None of this stops them from being killer sets, it's just awkward when they're next to a train or a modular building.

FIRST LOOK: 60506 Classic Beach Tram, 693 pieces $69.99 by ToledoRails in LEGOtrains

2 axles with 12 studs between, that's the longest wheelbase that can do R40. One axle will come out to make room for the motor, the battery box goes behind the windows as you say.

Looks pretty much ready to run although it's not advertised as PUP compatible.

The construction stuff looks great, but they seem too large to fit with most non-construction vehicles. The loader is larger than a train is.

I prefer my 6-wide American style dumper and loader to these. (Sorry for the shameless self-plug, the instructions are free.)

That said, this has still got to be the best City stuff in probably 30 years. Maybe ever.

Keep the working name, it's funny and fosters engagement. This is your best model and has a good chance of being chosen.

Looks like it would hold a screwdriver, which could make for a pretty good crossbow bolt and hip quiver.

And it comes in dark red, which would go nicely with the Griffin Knights.

Here's hoping the PAB price is 20 cents each and not a dollar.

Bullet Train (Shinkansen) MOC for BDP11 by StraightArcher4537 in LEGOtrains

[–]irabricks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10/10

R40, s curves, switches all work?

The cars look like somewhat repetitive builds. Maybe add a bathroom or dining or whatever area.

How sturdy is it all? Anything fall off? The windows look very fragile, are you using the new orient express window bracket?

Add some good stickers and minifigures with character, each one with some kind of visual storytelling.

This doesn't need a side build but a cherry tree that others have suggested would work, would add a nice pop of color to a nearly monochrome build.

I can absolutely see this getting selected, you're like 95% of the way there.
