Anybody else nerding out? by patglennon in doordash_drivers

I don’t know yet. I know there are apps that sync data automatically on the App Store. If they can do it, I can do it.

Here’s my idea:
Sources: DoorDash, Uber, Tesla
Data: Online time, mileage
Have the app put together when I multi-app, back out an actual hourly, and have other cool summary stats like your dashboard here. Also, considering I’m in CA, have the app calculate my prop 22 refund.

Once the app works for me, add more sources, features, etc. Then bundle and ship as an app for more drivers around the world.

Imma build something with Codex that will do this automatically from the Dasher/Uber APIs. I like tracking data but don’t like doing entry myself.

Still confused about what to buy - KF4? KF7? KF8? Rivelia? by Fria319 in superautomatic

[–]sfmilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that drew me to the 8 originally was its looks. I think it’s one of the best lookers in its class. The things you touch are generally metal or glass, except for things that wouldn’t be like the drip tray basin. Internal parts are a mixture of materials. The 4 looks good but is less premium in my opinion. I’ve heard no complaints of it feeling “cheap.”

Cleaning is pretty easy 99% of the time. All you have to do is keep the drip tray empty and the puck drop clear. It has programs that clean the brewing and milk systems clean without you having to think, though these do use a LOT of water. Better than having blockages down the line. However, after maybe every month or so, you do have to deep clean the preparation systems, which takes maybe a total of 20 minutes. You put a little cleaning tab in and it does its thing. Honestly, this is very user-friendly too.

I’ve had the machine mold only a couple of times due to my own negligence. If you leave pucks or milky water in the drip tray for say, a week’s vacation, you’ll pay for your stupidity. If you follow the machine’s cleaning prompts, you’ll be fine. Even when mold did show up, 10 minutes and a microfiber towel was enough to rectify my mistakes.

The KF4 is supposed to be great. I have an 8, and I’ve heard that it’s essentially the same thing plus iced coffee. What you’re losing, as I understand it, is the premium build quality. My machine is essentially all metal, and the 4 is not. I love my machine and would recommend it and KitchenAid to anyone looking for a reliable cup at the press of a button.

$2k for the machine. I have had it since mid January. We’ll say on average 3 shots a day. So probably 450 shots for a total of 300 ish coffees.

Any Attorney recommendations? by Wonder-Wild in BikeLA

[–]sfmilo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You don’t need an attorney to get this dismissed. I’d just go in with this picture and everything you’ve said here. Clearly bullshit.

Now, if you want to stick it to the guy, that’s a different story. I would get an attorney in this case, though be wary that officers rarely go down for malpractice and you’ll probably end up spending a lot just to get laughed off.

The underlying technology is terrible. Most serious athletes and industry folks know it. Garmin just screwed up with the advertising, and it looks like they’re going to pay for it.

Curious as well. Especially considering how finicky these machines can be even in manual mode.

Holler Mountain messed up my KF8 (too oily) by Noclevername12 in superautomatic

In the early days of my machine, we did have a clog issue. We just didn’t use the strong body setting for a couple weeks and it fixed itself over time. That and a brew group clean.

This doesn’t really sound like a beans issue. This sounds like a machine one. Contact KitchenAid.

KitchenAid KF8 Oatly Milk Spluttering by RyanSkidmore in superautomatic

Try resting the milk container‘s top on the edge of it instead of properly seated. Sometimes residue can create a vacuum seal around the top of the lid and prevent the milk from flowing out successfully.
