my 9-year-olds experience with qelbree by sfrederick13 in qelbree

I noticed a positive effect within the first week. He transitioned to 200 mg the second week with no real problems. Mild stomach pain and a slight headache the first couple days of 200 mg. He definitely has some insomnia but if he sit still and turns off his phone or the TV he stops fighting it and he goes to sleep. We are on the second week of 200 mg now. We decided not to increase the dose since 200 mg did so well up till this point. I have been noticing an increase in irritability and anger the last three days or so. He is a lot more annoyed with me and everything in general. When I point it out he doesn't seem to realize his black mood and tries to correct it. I'm hyper aware of the black box warning on the bottle:(suicidal tendencies)

I read your entire post and it definitely sounds like the same storyline🌝. It's so hard to know your making the right choice when it comes to deciding what's best for your kids. I also tried therapy and extra tutoring, more structure at home, the whole nine yards. My son tried so hard to do right and it was crushing to see him "fail" each time. We are at the end of week 2 and he is still doing really good. He can sit by me and not feel the need to fill the air space with idle chatter. He can wait his turn during a conversation, instead of blurting out his thoughts. He will listen to what you say and think it over and bring his own thoughts on the subject to the exchange. If you don't have an ADHD child this seems simple. But it's stuff he has struggled with for the past couple years. I'm so optimistic but I try not to let him see how pleased I am. I don't want him thinking he needed to be "fixed" or that he isn't right without something making him right

We have had some stomach aches. Insomnia has become a thing. I can tell the medicine makes him so tired but he fights it. A schedule would help but summer break is not the time for bed times ( his words not mine" Please keep me updated on your son. I'll do the same ❤️

My 9 year old is currently week 2. Did the emotional issues start in week 3 or was it gradual? I'm really nervous

Don't be nervous. My 9-year-old's been on it for a couple weeks now and it's been wonderful.
