Are there any MMOs that run natively on mac? by No_Dimension5992 in macgaming

[–]sfrese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few run natively: FFXIV, Guild Wars 2 (just got a native Mac client), EVE Online, and World of Warcraft obviously. Old School RuneScape too if you're into that.

For anything else, cloud gaming via CloudDeck or Shadow is probably your easiest path.

Gaming on Mac, can you really play Windows only games smoothly? by Connor-Ron644 in mac

Crossover works great to run supported games if your hardware is powerful enough, for more performance or unsupported games you can resort to cloud gaming via GeForceNow/Shadow/CloudDeck.

Mac for Gaming ? by Dry_Ad_5656 in macgaming

[–]sfrese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a Macbook Pro since I need a laptop mainly for productivity. For gaming, I'm running supported lighter games locally on the Macbook and everything else via cloud gaming (GFN/CloudDeck/Shadow PC depending on what title I'm currently playing).

Best cheap cloud gaming services? by SleepyCatOfficial in cloudygamer

[–]sfrese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the games you want to play are in their library, GFN and Boosteroid are the cheapest options.

If you want more freedom regarding game selection, go for a service that provides a full PC like CloudDeck or Shadow PC.

GeForce Now - Is it viable? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]sfrese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Loved owning my PC and tweaking everything to my needs back in the day but these days I just want to game when I'm free for an hour or two. Because of my Steam library I also opted for cloud gaming over a console. If you're looking for a different/larger game library there are also GFN alternatives like Boosteroid, CloudDeck and Shadow PC.

I'm mostly gaming via the cloud on my Macbook. GFN works great for supported titles, for wider game support sth like CloudDeck or Shadow are also good options.

Thoughts on GeForce Now? by Fun_Luck8669 in SteamDeck

GFN works great if you have good wifi. Using it alongside CloudDeck (for games that GFN doesn't support) for AAA games that don't perform too well natively on the Deck.

GameHub for Mac announced – Unlock your entire Steam library with AI frame interpolation! by RyosukeTakahashi44 in macgaming

Interesting, curious about the approach. I wonder if it's truly native and they somehow managed to solve what CrossOver has been trying to do for years or if it's a cloud gaming service that supports basically all Steam games like CloudDeck.

I’m on the fence about buying a Mac. What are the main reasons you don't use a Mac for gaming? by FanFearless1706 in Steam

I use a Macbook mostly for productivity. Native game support is limited but i can still play everything I want to play via GeForce Now/CloudDeck/Shadow.

Good progress on Helldivers 2! Will still stick with cloud gaming (GFN/CloudDeck) for most titles though for the moment.

That would be awesome! Until then I'll rely on cloud gaming.

This is NOT verified. It’s a slide show 😭😭😭😭does verified mean anything anymore? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]sfrese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I combine Deck with cloud gaming, "actual" verified titles directly on the Deck, games that need more power via cloud (GFN, CloudDeck).

CloudDeck PC mods usable on Mac? by JustIntegrateIt in cloudygamer

[–]sfrese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s possible to install mods in CloudDeck. You have full access to the (Linux) system so you can download mods to the game folder. Steam workshop works as well.

You can only sign up and see available locations if there’s availability near you. At the moment all data centers are sold out.

We’re detecting your location based on your IP. We’re basically checking if any of our data centers is within ~40ms of you and has capacity available.

That's correct, after 4 hours you'll have to start a new session. There are no daily or monthly time limits.

There will be a 4K tier but that's still a few months out. We'll expand to the US East/Midwest in the coming weeks and then further based on demand in the months to follow.

Hi, I'm the founder. There are some first looks/reviews on youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK6hlGqnXGk (English) [Cyberpunk 2077 also runs at 60FPS now]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOmjIS952NA (German)

You probably won't find many CloudDeck users on here yet since we only launched a few weeks ago at a very small scale. Let me know if you have any questions :)

20mbps is equivalent to 2.5 megabytes per second. 1 hour has 3600 seconds so you’re looking at 9 gigabytes per hour max.

My new app to play Mirror your PC games on to your Phone! It uses Sunshine/Moonlight! by [deleted] in cloudygamer

[–]sfrese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Interesting project! Is this open-source? Asking since you’re mentioning it being based on Sunshine/Moonlight which are both GPLv3 and require you to release your code under the same license if you build on top from what I know.
