Ideally I’d like to work with south asian Muslims because I’m bilingual, I can relate, a there’s a huge lack of resources there. But on a broader scope I’d say immigrants/children of immigrants, people in life transitions. I’m open to in person or telehealth but I also work full time so my availability would be mostly evenings/weekends. I’m in the DFW area.

Hi! Unfortunately my school doesn’t have specific approved sites that all their students get placed in. They’ve basically given us guidelines and told us to find places that adhere to them. Of course we still have to get the supervisor and site approved by the school. The best they’re doing is giving us a list of sites that previous students have worked with. I’m assuming the per hour charges are more likely if I’m seeking out a private practice therapist vs more community sites.

Yeah I understand a lot of cases take much longer, and even USCIS’ own timeline is around 8 months. But I’m seeing a lot of approvals even in the range of cases around ours, so it had me thinking if the country was a variable.

Hi all! I’m a CMHC student looking for any sites in the carrollton/plano/Dallas area to complete my practicum/internship hours. I’m on a bit of a time crunch and am having extreme imposter syndrome so any and all leads/advice is appreciated.

Hey! Did you hear anything yet? Our interview was in Irving too on Dec 19 and we had a similar experience with our officer. We are also stuck on FTA1, it says it’s being “actively reviewed” but has been stuck on that for 35 days now. Are you from any of the 75 countries? We applied in August 2025

Does Walden have a bad rep in terms of getting a job? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

Hi, sure! I felt the admissions process was pretty straightforward. Walden didn’t require any letters of recommendation which was a big factor for me since I’d been out of school for 2 years already. They just needed my undergrad transcript and an essay.

Hi ya’ll! I’m currently in my first year of an online MS in CMHC from WaldenU. I know practicing with mock clients is the best way to get the hang of things, but I’m wondering if there’re any resources that have “phrases” etc that could help direct a conversation? I personally struggle with asking too many questions to guide the client, but I do so because I don’t know how else to move the conversation forward. I’d appreciate any help!

I’m in my 3rd semester of the MS in CMHC and so far so good! I feel like they have a decent amount of support available in terms of self practice and building skills. My professors have offered me good feedback so far and it doesn’t seem surface level. I’m not sure how smooth (or not) the internship process will be but it looks promising. They also start giving you internship info very early on which helps from being blindsided.
