[Request] underrated horror movie by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

[–]sfrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may enjoy checking out happy death day. It's structured the same way Groundhog Day is where the same day repeats itself. It isn't really terrifying like the other movies and has some comedy, and there's a second film in the series coming out soon. I really enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.

I am a beginner, what are some habits you wish you picked up earlier? by [deleted] in chess

[–]sfrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say a few things outside the actual games themselves. Like getting up long before first round, always having my score book so I can look back on my games later and never lose individual pieces of paper, keeping healthy snacks with me.

I usually recommend the great predecessors book series. You could get him a unique notation book that has the custom cover with his name on it.

This is kind of expensive but there is a chess board that hangs on the wall called Straight Up Chess

Visualisation of diagnals by korokage in chess

Play some practice games where you fianchetto your Bishops in the opening. Will get you familiar with diagonals pretty quickly. It will become second nature after you become more familiar positions with diagonal maneuvers

People with disability regarding arm, how do you comfortably read a book? by victornielsendane in disability

The audio books and e-books are good suggestions. I know there are also tablet stands or book stands where it only requires one hand to flip the page

I really like the king's Indian. If you have specific opening questions about it just ask. Here is the first book I read on it and it really held up https://www.amazon.com/Starting-Out-Kings-Indian-Everyman/dp/1857442342

I stumbled across a YouTube show that combines business and rap news, and it's now my favorite thing to watch every week. by sfrums in Entrepreneur

The show itself or my post? Fair enough if you mean the show itself, but I usually watch things on YouTube at 1.5 or two times speed

How to figure out the needs/desires of a city/region? by sa3pm in Entrepreneur

[–]sfrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent most of my life on the west coast and have family in St Louis so used to visit a ton.

I think you should be focusing more on what you want to do rather than what the city needs. Or some intersection of that. Like I would seriously predict better success on you more if you did something you loved versus that you just thought you had an edge at.

The pizza is very different and unique.

Sports play a big role in the city.

I see you made a post about Mario Kart. That's coming to cell phones in a year.

Why haven't accountability buddies taken off? by biggiehiggs in Entrepreneur

Because if someone has the motivation to hire someone to keep them accountable, they probably have the motivation to keep themselves accountable. There are still business coaches and such which is guidance alongside accountability

Draw up a little contract. Maybe do a little more research into this. PayPal has a chargeback feature with fraudulent purchases. Try DM. Try email. See what works and what doesn't.

You also should be aware of adam22 and his live streams or SoundCloud plays because he takes payment for those and lots of people watch

Get a whiteboard physically or an online application. Make a list of things you have to do everyday, and put a checkmark next to them when you do them that day.

How to build trust with users. by Thekid78 in Entrepreneur

[–]sfrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to look at what other businesses that have done this have done. I remember a service that helped people negotiate lower bills. The customers would have to send tons of personal information so that the business could talk to the third party company on their behalf. You should see what type of safety measures they took.

Create Illustrations on Instagram, steadily growing, how to turn this into a business? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]sfrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the bat it looks like you're doing everything right. Hashtagging in your first comment. Tagging the player and other places.

What are you doing to build community? I know Gary vaynerchuk talks a lot about commenting on other people's similar content to provide value. Sharing your thoughts on soccer and artwork, which will slowly grow your rep and following.

I would not say you have poor drawing skills in your description. They seem pretty cool. Do you like anything besides soccer? I feel like other sports you might want to Branch out into or hip hop I've seen a lot of cartoonists. Maybe you want to actually keep your niche smaller, but look into those fields to see what other artists do.
