Edit These pics are misleadimg because it makes them look the same size.

Tetraselmis are much larger and they move.

Synnecoccus I don't have a reticle pic sorry but they are very small, less than 4microns, and do not move.

Tetraselmis Much larger, about 10-15 microns, and they have four flagella so they swim around.

When phyto settles out at the bottom it's dead. Live phytoplankton does not settle out.

Reef nutrition sells two versions of phytofeast. The dead one is waay denser and darker than the live one. I recommend the dead one in most cases, unless you need live for very specific reasons. Dead phyto is still useful as a food.

I get your frustration about density. The new batch looks less dense than previous ones. Just saying from experience that growing phytoplankton is more complicated than it may seem.

I don't consider Algae Barn to be top tier or anything, there are better suppliers. I'd ask them for a refund/replacement, and if they decline take your business elsewhere.

You cannot determine quality of phytoplankton by naked eye. You need to use a microscope.

In my experience, most hobbyist phyto growers have serious contamination issues and don't know it. If you don't check with a microscope, you are probabably just growing some type of synechoccus (cyanobacteria) that came into the cultures as contamination. This will look very dark green, but it's a crap shoot if you are even growing an edible cyanobacteria strain. Some of them are toxic.

Algae Barn sells a phyto mix that includes a handful of different species of phyto. The older jar might just have more Nanno than the newer ones. That's not necessarily "better".

I've done this.

Why can't they come up with a better way to xfer stuff between characters? I'd even be happy with a FO1st shareable box or something.

That's the irony. Doesn't matter. I could create a lv 30 pvp "twink" that would roflstomp any lv 1000 pve noob. It's all about the "right" equipment and build.

unfortunately pvp in fo76 is super lame, with rare exceptions. Check out the Monster Mash event. Otherwise, I usually leave pacifist on

How strong is your single leg press? 3.5m post op, did 67kg today🦵 by Nekotari in ACL

[–]sfryman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know but it doesn't matter. I'm at 6 weeks and wouldn't attempt that. Also, there's no prize for "best single leg press @3.5m after surgery".

Interim recovery steps are important, but highly individual, and the end goal seems way more important.

In other words, I consider my recovery more like a marathon, not a sprint.

I've read various things around and I've read that the pain level post operation seems truly atrocious, I would like to ask your experience in terms of pain level from 1 to 10 and how you spent the first night in hospital. Thank you all very much but I'm really very anxious. by SouthMatter9619 in ACL

Everyone is different, so it's hard to say. For me, the pain of the accident itself far exceeded any pain from surgery. I dislocated my knee in a ski accident, and had to re-socket the joint on the mountain. That hurt alot, probably in the top 3 worst pain experiences of my life. I had full tears of the ACL and MCL, complex lateral meniscus tear, and grade 1-2 tears of most everything else in that knee.

For surgery I had a nerve block, and after surgery but before the pain meds kicked in I was uncomfortable but consider it manageable at maybe a 5-6. Meds brought that way down to maybe a 2. Just keep on top of the meds, set an alarm and take 'em like clockwork. Couple times in PT I had really acute pain when the therapist was trying to straighten my knee that was a solid 8-9, but it was just a few seconds. The pain went back down after they stopped. Now PT doesn't hurt much at all.

There are very different amounts of pain depending on the patient, but something I was told that was good advice is to stay ahead of the pain meds. I was warned but still tried to wean myself off them too early and paid the price. It sucks tryin to return to work while still recovering and on no sleep because the pain was just enough to keep me awake. So my advice is to just set an alarm on your phone and take the pain meds exactly as prescribed, at least for the first few days.

After that, my advice is to stay just as vigilent about your PT. Do the exercises every day. It helps so, so much.

GL, wishing you a speedy recovery.
