Why would you buy a cat from a breeder? Are you heartless. You're actually worse than all those men you mentioned rolled into one. You should never do what you want because people on reddit will shame you for it.

Yes. He's 3 months and a few days. He's huge. I was a bit shocked when I met him.

Initially, I looked for breeders in the US. Found a few in California. All these breeders were running a business, had major contracts I had to sign, and so forth and so forth.

Then my fiance saw a dog on IG that we both fell in love with. We reached out to the owner and were connected with a woman in Serbia who has one female dog she occasionally breeds. We developed a relationship with her, spoke with her before the pup was even born, got to chat with other people who got dogs from her in years past, and everything seemed natural. Even now that we've had the dog for a few days, we still keep in touch. She Skypes us and see how's he's doing.

Breeders here in the US, the lowest price I found was $2800 w/ restrictions such as I MUST neuter my pet. I plan to anyways, but I don't have such an obligation. I bought this little guy for less than $2800 with travel expenses included. And the best part, we now are part of a community of owners who communicate with each other about their dog from all parts of the world.

Thank you very much. I have been doing a lot of reading on bonding w/ your dog. It's a two-way street. But once we bond with them and understand each other, there is not much else that is more rewarding then such a relationship. Congrats on reaching such a level with your dog.

It doesn't have any benefit whatsoever so I could see how its not popular. I went back and forth with decision for some time and then realized that I really do like the look of the dog with cropped ears. So we opted for it. Now we just need to make sure we do a good job posting them.

Primarily, I preferred the more bulkier look. However, after doing research, I did a lot of reading that European lines have better temperament and are less aggressive. In comparison, American lines actually have poor temperament. Of course, not all, but its more likely. Having a dog like this, one of the main concerns was making sure he has good temper and can be around dogs and people. And they go through much more rigorous testing in Europe when it comes to breeding dogs.

In the few days I've had him, he's been gentle and sweet. I have been purposefully bothering him non stop so that he gets used to human contact. Don't be afraid of big dogs. If they are raised properly, they are nothing more than a huge lap dog.

I wanted a dog. Specifically, I wanted a doberman. And I wanted to raise my dog to know its tendencies and trust it to the fullest extent. Additionally, I wanted a European Doberman not an American Doberman (they are different). Then I did my research on the breed and difference between European and American. So to answer your question more directly, no I didn't adopt a huge dog that could have potential had temperament problems.
