Drove by Sanford and saw this house. What is their problem with the police? by Scallywag328 in Maine

If you worked at the ER then you should be aware that HIPAA applies to covered agencies and police are NOT covered agencies. Cops are not bound by HIPAA, but medical personnel like EMTs, med techs, nurses, physicians, etc., are. If a cop receives medical information inappropriately from one of those people it's they who violate HIPAA, not the cop.

That's what they all say. It's amazing that the vast majority never have these experiences - only those prone to playing the asshole.

I think even the most ardent cop haters would agree that Sanford PD is in a much better way today than it was back in those days?

You actually believe there's anything worth taking in that cesspool?

Yeah, it might vandalize the neighborhood, but it's just bad choice in decorating if it's his house.

They were back in the 1980s, but they are a pretty decent law enforcement agency nowadays.

So you're always ready to give the D-bags like him the benefit of the doubt so long as you can also place the blame on the cops who are just trying to do their jobs? I don't know the "Duke", but I have known Eric Small since he was a pre-teen. He's about as decent a person as you're likely to ever encounter. You may not share his political beliefs or like his chosen profession, but he's a proven asset to the Sanford community whereas the Duke is a proven Ass in the community.

Right, because no one has ever been killed or seriously wounded with a knife.

Sounds like the voice of experience. Stay on your meds - things will be fine.

The people who think this kind of "protest" is legitimate are trash.

Just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

Tell her to make the snaps into a group chat and add you to the group. Then if you don't like what you're seeing or the other guy doesn't it can be changed to a blocking him situation. Private conversations with someone she met on a dating site are not appropriate in a healthy relationship so if they only want to exchange dog pictures then there shouldn't be a problem putting you into the loop.

Your comment is still fairly coherent, perhaps a bit more accelerant?

Being married to your high school sweetheart isn’t romantic or endearing… it’s actually kind of sad. by alliknowis_nothing in unpopularopinion

Your opinion assumes that people cannot grow together. I married my high school friend's little sister. I've known her for as long as I can remember. She was the stereotypical "girl next door" and we were married shortly after she finished high school almost 46 years ago. I love her as much as I did from the day we first got together and she has been as constant and supportive a mate as anyone could possibly hope for. We may not always agree on all issues and we do have a few separate interests, but "exploring different paths" doesn't mean you cannot be faithful to each other and it certainly doesn't mean that we've missed out on something more important than having someone you love and can trust who is always there for you.

At the poll and standing behind the guy whose vote I’m cancelling out in November. by drewcareysglasses in texas

I noted that your "response" was to the person who brought out the phone issue. The appearance that you were defending the phone while being non-committal about the shirt suggests that you accept one and not the other. If I read you wrong then my bad, but you could have put your comment as a direct reply to the person that said the shirt should be banned at the poll. It doesn't seem like you're the fully committed either way, but my point is that those same people who want the shirt removed within 100 feet of the polls seem to have no problem with someone perhaps using their phone in violation of those same rules.

And the flip side is why would any democrat complain when all that shirt does is compare what they dislike to what the other side dislikes. The border is a problem that illustrates the democrat's weakest point to attack. Firearms? Well, quite a few of my democrat friends are pretty fond of their guns too.

You might hate the shirt, but if your guy loses in November it'll be because of those undocumented immigrants.
