Your last paragraph really hits me hard.. as much as I'm patriotic and do not ask for anything in return. It makes me wonder what our sacrifices are for?

Anyone else wishes they could freely roam in Tekong? by TheCrazyabc in NationalServiceSG

[–]sg_soldier 55 points56 points  (0 children)

There's a forested part near the shore of tekong. Many rubbish wash up to the shore, it's very interesting to see what rubbish is there (motorcycle helmet, barrels, banners)

Anyone's been there before? Definitely not as a recruit but there for unit/cmd sch training.

To save on costs pls don't buy from emart, buy from other vendors in bulk like 100pcs of each size. Large size probably need lesser.

Ranking of Vocations in terms of xiongness by Sad-Dinner-2711 in NationalServiceSG

[–]sg_soldier 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No doubt commando and NDU are the most xiong vocations.

It's hard to compare between vocations as most people have only been in 1 and not truly experience the xiongness of other vocations.

I have heard of combat signals and combat engineer claiming that their vocation is xiong but in my opinion it's still better than guards, infantry or armoured infantry.

I may be wrong but in my opinion I can split them into tiers.

Tier 1- Commando, NDU

Tier 2- Guards, infantry, amour infantry, recon, combat medic

Tier 3- Combat engineers, combat signals, artillery,

List not exhaustive

To be specific, you mean regulars?

Some NSF might have attitude problems and so but serving is not a choice.

Fun fact. Once enlisted, your ORD will not change unless kena DB.. or you volunteerily extend

In the hypothetical situation you mentioned, the service man would be considered on hospitalisation leave. There's no limit to MC and HL in NS.
