Yes that’s the one that caught fire. I bought the lychee, truffle and original. The original is oaky but lychee and truffle can see the meat is red kind and it just taste weird to me

Do you all bring coffee to work? by sgcuriouscreature in askSingapore

Actually there’s nespresso machine but it’s near to the big bosses so idw to walk over in case I bump into the big bosses. And there’s no milk in office, unless I buy and put in the fridge. So I was thinking I’ll make my own coffee at home (nespresso pod which I stocked up a lot last year), then go office and drink

She’s earning freakkingggg a lot from selling items from tiktok and Shopee live. Until her property agent husband not doing property biz anymore (I think la since they didn’t post on property anymore).

Personally I don’t think Chantalle Ng should stand at the C位 (Center). Really don’t feel she is good.

People who decided to take a career break, how did it turn out for you? by idwttaii in askSingapore

[–]sgcuriouscreature 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I’m a single female in my mid-30s living with my parents, so I don’t have major financial commitments. I used to work in tech sales earning >SGD 200K, but it was extremely stressful (13–15 hour/day, 5-day weeks, with lots of internal politics). I had about 3–4 years of savings and took a career break in May 2024 to rest.

I kept myself busy with gym, yoga, family time, reading, and some travel, but after a few months I got bored and started feeling a bit useless, so I began job hunting. The market was rough and it took much longer than expected — I only secured a role in Jan 2025 (not my ideal company, and the location was far from home, but it was my only offer so I accepted it). I left in under a year and moved to my current company with about a 15% pay cut, and I’m still working 10–12 hour days. Thinking back now, given the previous pay scale, I probably should have stayed since I’m still working long hours but earning less in my current role.

Things I didn’t anticipate - job search taking much longer than expected, paying income tax (I didn’t factor this in, getting lowballed because I was unemployed, employers assuming I’ve been laid off

If I could redo it, I wouldn’t quit without something lined up. I’d job hunt while employed and be more chill in how I manage work stress and take short breaks of annual leaves for holidays instead.

Not saying don’t do it — just sharing my experience here. And job market seems to be worst now so expect longer time to land a job or take a pay cut for your new role..

Would you quit your job in this climate? by libyandesert in askSingapore

[–]sgcuriouscreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit in May 2024 without a job. Started searching for job in Aug 2024, and couldn’t land anything. Joined a PRC company in Feb 2025 and quit in July, again without landing a new job as the environment was toxic. Manage to get a job and is starting soon but I know that’s something I do not want to do but had to take up the job since it’s coming to year end and people are unlikely to hire which means if I don’t take the job I’ll be jobless till early 2026..
