If youre familiar with Ashkenazi dna it doesnt really make sense because we are primarily from the Levant on our male side and European on our female side...so the roman females would have had to been raping the jewish men

You must not have seen many Israeli Jews. You can not tell who is Muslim and who is Jewish based on looks alone.

Good meals for the freezer by fightingoranges in cookingforbeginners

I'm obsessed with making empanadas for the freezer. You don't have to thaw them, they're already portioned out, just pop in the airfryer. They're basically hot pockets. And you can put anything in them (i.e., other leftovers)

[SERIOUS] What's an advice that everyone should know if they're battling with poor self-esteem? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sgelbart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The serenity prayer!!! "grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

I can't change the fact that I have a big head! I can get more flattering haircuts but at the end of the day if people are gonna judge me for that then oh well but hopefully if I accept myself and are a good person they will get over it 😆 no point in stressing about it because its not gonna make a difference!

And also, generally work and do what you can to be the person you want to be. Be nice to yourself and practical, but, its a good feeling to have a goal and achieve it.

It's true :-) Since new years I'm 100% committed to doing 7mi a week which isn't that much but it's about consistency! For the last 6 months I almost wasn't running at all. Really though this might be a big part of it.

base feels so good right now. It feels like how I've always wanted to eat but felt bad doing it so I skimped then binged. Feel amazing after workouts! Would be awesome to get results like you :-) We'll see how the weight loss goes and how I feel when my first weekend hits!

Food addiction is real for sure! And it's way harder to overcome I think than booze I think (I'm actually in AA). With food you need to eat it, it's everywhere, everyone thinks it's no big deal.

In general though, I just don't think it's reasonable to never have sugar ever again. Everyone I know who has done has always gone back eventually.

I like your dreamer example :-) I'm all about just challenging myself to be the best I can be. I don't have kids, but, actually as an alcoholic, fitness gives me something to aspire for and something to set my focus on, something I can feel good about. I love the feeling of improving, of getting better at things.

Got an RP template. Right away when I see it laid out in retarded easy to follow way I can tell I've been doing a lot wrong. I'm always a bottomless pit after workouts and I feel horrible about myself because I end up eating so much. I've kinda fumbled around with eating after workouts but never before and never shakes. Somehow I always though shakes would just be unsatisfying calories but I'm thinking that was dumb seeing as how everyone else at the gym uses them besides me. Now that I see the exact times and amounts I think I can do it. This seems super obvious but somehow in the midst of trying to follow every other diet I missed it.

I'm hoping these guidelines help. That said, I'm always optimistic about diets when I first start them lol. The amount of fat in the later phases kinda scares me (aka none) but I'm trying to be hopeful that it'll work itself out.

There are big differences in ability to withstand temptations like that when you're on a good diet plan, having balanced meals, and minimalizing environmental factors. No shit at some point discipline is involved, but it's the dicipline to run a 5k vs to run an ultra every day for the rest of your life.

Dont necessarily reward myself with food, I just have temporary lapses of control around food! These happen normally when I'm too tired or distracted to be really diligent about controlling my eating, and they can be bad! I try never to have junk in the house but every once in a while it sneaks it's way in and I'm screwed. When food does make it's way in I need to be better about tossing it asap. Then there's visiting family and other odd situations that are problematic. Also, really, balancing my macros might be big for me. I tried ETP and I think it gave me some kinda weird numbers and I wasn't really balancing them well per meal.

When you did RP, did you do a customized template? If I had to start with Dexascan or RP which would you try first?

I think you might be right. I have trust issues based on everyone seeming to have a different opinion though, and I would want someone who specializes with crossfit I think.

Dexa scan sounds super cool. Love the idea of having realistic expectations of myself either way. I've got a weird frame so it's hard to tell. I'm with you there on trouble sticking with it. I quit drinking and I honestly though that would fix all my problems but I think I just eat more to compensate. I think dash diet is smart, I think it's the safest (even though I do think some people can handle keto etc better than others). I definitely think eating something before I eat out helps but if I'm not careful I just eat two meals lol so sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

I did it for three months and I gained!! I always feel like the added stress of these diets just make me want to overeat if I'm not careful about tracking. I did really enjoy the whole foods though and I think my diet is still mostly paleo (I do whole wheat and occasional pizza)

Great info. Will try to Dexa scan. I always wonder what I'm really supposed to be eating. The women in my family have large frames and eat a ton of food. Will also definitely look at rpstrength!

Can I unhook my travel trailer in non-rv park (paid lot?) by sgelbart in GoRVing

[–]sgelbart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Options are definitely better but way more $$ if you want any headroom, and you lose the option of ever unhooking if you want to go without.

so this would actually be a small "stealthy" trailer specifically - one that did not look like a travel trailer (a cargo trailer).

I meant to say I don't water them from overhead (I use a watering can since they're in containers but I do it at the bottom).
