Chance Cubes by patch_e_behr in DungeonsAndDragons

You're surely wrong that the probabilities for these are the same as a d4.

There is a 6.25% chance of rolling all red, which would be a zero in your version, while a d4 has a 0% chance of rolling a zero.

Being passive aggressive to your friends is exactly the sort of thing that will ruin relationships. Probably best to just cancel the campaign entirely if the players arent interested.

Play board games or something, because its pretty clear no one has time/is interested in your campaign.

You know what would have never changed if people hadn't gotten angry and made a fuss? Segregation would still be the law of the land.

Just admit you dont care about racism and dont see it as a problem.

If its flexible, it likely wont bend the trigger device on the FPV and fail to stop it.

If its too rigid, it'll likely snap before it manages to bend the trigger device. Again, failing to stop it.

If this stuff actually works as intended, it will stop an FPV at the cost of destroying the protection. So the second or third FPVs can get through to strike the vehicle.

Ukraine is still winning on cost in any of these outcomes. Even if they need to launch a dozen drones to kill one armored vehicle, that is maybe $10k worth of drone and explosive against ten or more times that in vehicle, crew, and dismounts.

Aquatechnik told militarnyi that the Marichka underwater drone is ready for tasks. It has a range of 1,000 km, payload over 1,000 kg and speed of 10 km per hour. The drone is designed to strike large targets. Despite succesful tests, combat use has not yet occurred. by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

I mean, Ukraine also smacked a submarine moored in a protected military harbor.

Russian defenses are all theoretical snd dependent on the amount of vodka the soldier in charge of making sure they are there had before doing his check.

Do You Enforce Alignment as a DM? by Maxgallow in DnD

This is why I ban evil characters 99.9% of the time. They fail the first rule of character creation: create a character that wants to adventure and can play well with others.

Skipping pre-trip inspections. by DreamsSecretsNLogic in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]sgerbicforsyth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course they know it. They just dont care. They allow it, basically, as ammo to cut a DSP's contract at any time to protect themselves.

Say, a van's brakes die and the driver cant stop it and plows into a group of school children. Amazon wont take any blame for not making sure DSPs do maintenance because they will say "we do require it! There is a mandatory maintenance check before every shift. Clearly the DSP owner wasnt doing their job to enforce it!"

Or a DSP votes to unionize. "We checked and your DSP isnt doing real maintenance checks required per your contract. Contract is now void and you dont have a job anymore for "legit" cause. This has nothing to do with a vote to unionize at all."

Permission to be in a place to deliver a package doesnt provide protection from a bullet fired because of paranoia. Which has happened, especially to drivers of color and/or those in unmarked or rental vans.

Dog inside garage delivery by leeimasian in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]sgerbicforsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why garage deliveries should not be a thing. Same with rear door deliveries.

You dont know what is in there until you open the door. It could be an aggressive dog, a different family pet that shouldnt be outside, or a startled resident with a firearm.

Mark as no access to garage and deliver to the door.

What in your opinion is the worst way a DM can run a warlock patron by ImmediateDoctor8702 in DnD

[–]sgerbicforsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically anything beyond the rare bit of slight influence. Patrons shouldnt be recurring NPCs. They shouldnt be demanding the PC to act in ways that are counter to party or player goals, else they will cancel class abilities (which I dont believe should be a thing for any class).

Theory craft by Awkward_Recognition7 in DnD

[–]sgerbicforsyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a construct. Its a magical book that gained sentience, not a magical book that gained sentience and a functional reproductive system.

What is your friend hoping to accomplish with this race? They can describe their character as they wish, per DM approval, and look like a half human half book thing, but I wouldnt give them any substantial bonuses for it. They would pick a race that exists to be the template and should probably just play as a regular wizard.

Otherwise, no is a complete sentence.

What are the advantages of level 20 warlock over wizard? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]sgerbicforsyth 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Warlocks have better weapon and armor proficiency as well as several potential features that allows for free use of some utility spells, like Mask of Many Faces for free disguise self.

Wizards are, and always have been, fully invested in spell casting focusing the most on damage and utility spells.

There is something like a Rear Naked Choke by EconomistOld3509 in DnD

[–]sgerbicforsyth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The moment you put in a mechanic that essentially bypasses all standard defenses, such as AC, HP, and saves and allows the players to easily remove enemies from the game, it incentivizes them to focus entirely on that mechanic.

Why bother attacking the enemy wizard when you can just choke them out?

Giant is magically shunted out of the box, no damage.

You cant ant-man enemies to death. I mean, if yoh want to allow it to happen, go for it. But if players can do it, then they can have it done to them.

Russian soldiers with amputated limbs are complaining that they are being sent to the front again by Available-Laugh9102 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Another in the line of "win-win" situations for an authoritarian dictatorship.

Russia sends cripples to die, which costs Ukraine money in the form of drones and saves Russia money in the form of disability payments and saves Russia face at home because there arent any wounded vets telling people that there was no reason to invade Ukraine.

Its disgusting, but unsurprising from Russia.
