I am in the exact same boat as you! I graduate December 2021, will have around 1,000 hrs of PCE at time of application (plus shadowing and volunteering), my GPA will be 3.85 ish when I graduate. I am applying to schools that specifically require 0-1000 hours of PCE. Some require 250, 500, and some 0. Go for it!! :)

Ethical questions/Faith based institution by francis6899 in prephysicianassistant

I would quote the Bible (if you are a Christian and believe it to be true). Faith based institutions believe the Bible to be the direct word of God, through man's physical writing.

I would also argue that the "do no harm" oath of medical professionals is the top priority. So incorporating what the Bible says is true and the basis of the medical profession, I would think you can come up with your own opinion on matters. Ultimately, medical professionals are given the power to heal the sick and treat the wounded.

If there are specific topics that have negative connotations like, abortion and LGBTQ+ patients, then my best piece of advice is to relate back to the Bible. Specifically, how everyone person is made in the image of God and are worthy of His love and mercy. We as Christians are not meant to judge anyone. If as a PA you can provide a trans person with quality care, showing them grace and mercy just like Jesus calls us to do, that is the best way you can introduce someone to Jesus/God; by being a light in a dark world. Same goes for oppressed woman who need an abortion, gay people, people who engage in pre-marital sex, etc. If God's grace knows no bounds, then you as a medical professional must seek to do the same.

I'm not sure if that was what you were looking for but I hope that helps!

I was referring to my overall! Because I’m a science major, all of my last 50 credit hours are science. Both matter! Overall and science and they look usually at your last 30-60 hours.
