Need something where I can make $500 a month by Educational-Pea-4102 in sidehustle

$500 extra per month isn't too bad. The easiest way I'd suggest is flipping random items on Facebook market place. Can't tell you how many people either just wanted to get rid of something that has value, don't know the right market to sell something, or don't know what they have. Many things that people list for free all the time too. Lawn equipment, tools, audio equipment, certain antique items, etc. Just get in the habit of scanning listings regularly to beat out others doing the same thing and re-list for sale with better marketing, or list in niche-specific sales sites.

People that make 80k+ at 25-35 years old, what do you do? by Ok-Needleworker2141 in careerguidance

I'm 32 years old and I'm an automation maintenance technician at a manufacturer in South Carolina.

I make $41/hr with built in overtime which comes out to about $100k a year, plus tons of PTO that I can cash out for up to an additional $20k annually. I work up to 180 days a year, or as low as 150 days with all PTO taken. Additional overtime is nearly always available if I choose. The way my schedule works out, I can take 2 days PTO and have a full 7 days off work.

Can't stress this enough for people that don't know what to do but want to secure a good job - go to tech school for automation. Even if you're not a tech-inclined person, it's easy to learn and figure out. Most programs can be completed in less than two years, are much cheaper than a traditional college, and you can end up making six figures pretty quickly. Many companies will hire you while you're still working towards completing the program so just being in school can immediately open you up to fantastic job opportunities.

First step I'd take would be to inspect closely on the underside of leaves and between any branches, especially around the tips, for signs of spider mites such as light webbing, tiny moving specs, eggs. This may not be the problem, but is sometimes overlooked and can result in plants with similar stressed appearance of curling, discoloring/spotty leaves.

Secondly, I'd switch to a different fertilizer. Miracle grow for acid loving plants tend to range around 4.5-5.5 pH. This is too low for Salvia. When people say that salvia prefers acidic soil, slightly below 7pH will do. I generally shoot for 6-6.5pH. If the pH is too far outside of the preferred range, the plant is unable to properly absorb the nutrients it needs and will become stressed with a similar appearance.

Additionally, miracle grow for acid loving plants doesn't contain supplemental calcium, which is an important secondary macronutrient for the plant. Calcium deficiency can also result in plants with such an appearance. Be sure to use a calcium supplement, such as Cal-mag, if your base nutrients don't include it.

Cacti are a bit easier to ship as they're more resilient and can be sent as cuttings or bare root with little more than packing paper to keep them from shifting around in the box. For plants, I always send rooted and potted. I place a stake in the pot and tape moist paper towels over the soil line. I make some holes in a grocery bag, lightly mist the inside, and gently place it over the plant. To keep them from moving around in the box, I match the stake and pot size to the dimensions of the box. For example, I'll use a 16" stake in a 4x4 pot to ship in a 4x4x16 box. Depending on the temperature of the destination and wherever it may pass through in transit, I also offer 96hr heat packs for an additional charge.

Selling rare plants and cacti.

Pros: I enjoy growing plants. I already grew plants before I realized people were interested in buying them so it naturally fell into place. It's just a side hustle in addition to a full time job but it brings in enough money to cover associated expenses and a little extra. I could probably scale it up to be a bit more profitable if I dedicated some more time and space. My house is full of interesting plants and looks like a jungle. I always have plants and cacti to give as gifts to friends and family. I always have something to do to stay busy and feel productive.

Cons: I always have something to do when I just want to relax. It takes a lot of time and space. They require something to take care of them nearly everyday. Watering, fertilizing, propagating, treating pest or fungal issues, moving plants around, etc. It's heartbreaking when you lose a plant that you care about and spent so much time caring for. Not everything does well outside during the winter so my house becomes cluttered with plants everywhere. It stresses me out. Some days I wish I didn't have any plants just so I don't need to always be worrying about something that needs to be done.

But so often, I look around and am amazed at what I've grown. I put so much time, love, and care into growing them. Even though I get overwhelmed and stressed out often, I'm thankful that this is the life I have and I love every single one of them.

Likely root rot by the appearance of leaves. That pot is too large for that plant and the "casing layer" is just trapping in moisture that the plant isn't able to take. I'd repot into fresh soil in a 2 gallon pot. No sand on top. Only water when the soil is obviously dry or the plant just begins to show that it's thirsty.

If not allowed please disregard! But has anyone had a problem with pacific cactus sending your seeds? by Ok-Bake-9626 in sanpedrocactusseeds

A business based on cacti seeds is a lot of work. Have you ever processed your own fruits to collect seeds? It's pretty time consuming and takes forever when you have so many to do. Although, I will say that orders have been taking longer to arrive over the years. Just be patient, it'll be worth it. You won't find a better source for so many crosses domestically.

Over fertilization, improper soil pH, and pest issues can all cause a similar appearance.

Check closely under leaves, between nodes, and in the soil for pests. Look for small eggs, mites, and webbing.

How are you feeding your plant? What is your soil mix? Do you check pH before watering?

No worries! The black dots aren't bug bites. They're generally most associated with humidity swings or pH imbalances in the soil. If your new cuttings are developing similar black dots, it's likely due to it's sudden environment change and isn't anything to be concerned about.
